its not done by position, they take a maximum of 3 players per year. He has to be among the best 3 players eligible. Which just isnt likely. There are at least 20 active players that are way ahead of him, another 10 to 15 that are retired and eligible, but not yet in. Hes way down the line.

He is more deserving than all in this list other than Keith.

It appears people just want to look at points, but this guy is one of the best forwards defensively in the modern era. Watching this game for 40 years amd I can’t think of anyone better defensively.

W that said, I hate him. I’d sooner spear him then give him a drink if water if he was trouncing through the Sahara. Hate the guy.

While you do have some players that will have a better career than Marchand. This is an extremely loose list of players.

Getzlaf, Kopitar, Miller, Rinne, Backstrom, Spezza, Sedins, Stamkos, Suter, Giroux, Tavares.... All very good players but I’m taking Marchand all day over these guys.

My friend used to work at the HHOF and I remember him talking about a rat infestation that they were dealing with.

Anze Kopitar is country miles ahead of Marchand. Theyre not in the same ballpark. Kopitars resume puts Marchands to shame.

So, not as good defensively, less career points, not as good offensively, no individual hardward like Kopitar does, less cups, but somehow you take Marchand. There is literallly not a single part of Marchands resume that trumps Kopitar. not one little bit.
