Eklund: Allen: Flyers have to guard against this season turning into last season

It's going to be much worse than last season. AV gone by the New Year. They have no depth or prospects in the wings. Their overrated roster talent is cooked and can barely skate with 75% of the league. To keep drafting around 10-20 in the draft isn't a plan either. But don't worry Comcast has a muppet and a model to bring the games to you.

The flyers aren’t the fastest team but yeah so what.
AV is pushing a system that doesn’t fit the players they have.
How many times can you try and smash a square peg into a round hole.
Every team deals with injuries. The flyers couldn’t play team defense if their whole team was on the ice against five from another team.
They would still give up great scoring chances and back door goals.

A) I don't want Fletcher or AV to stay period. I don't have the answer for who should replace them, but I think it goes that deep.
B) Too much of the roster is a flawed collection of grinders who are 4th line at best.
C)As great a story as Oscar Lindblom's return has been, he simply can't play at the level he was playing before. Or at least he hasn't shown it.

Count me as another fan who is ready for a change. After last year why would anyone think AV can dig this years team out of this hole. Not saying he's not a good coach, but they're not responding to him. The PP has been beyond awful.

The Flyers are an okay team that's been overrated for awhile, they lack game breaking talent, they look like a wildcard team or bubble team that if they make it will be a first round exit.

Changing the coach won't change the reality that the best players on this team are overpaid, with ridiculous contracts, and that many of the younger players aren't as good as they've been touted. Time for them to find a team for Giroux, where he would
accept going. The Flyers are boring and putrid right now, and I don't think this is just a slump. They aren't a playoff team.

Captain Comfortable has zero desire t leave at this point. Has it made in the shade in philly. Hopefully he changes his mind. CC isn't part of the solution going forward.

Technically, Dubnyk is not an NHL player. He could go to China, perhaps with Jimmy Howard as back-up. Round up some other AHL guys. If Dubnyk can steal a medal the sweeps would get pretty serious...

Its too late it already has. This season has a feel of being over already as it is a mirror image of last season with many new players...soooo....bye bye coaches is next I'm sure...but either way I'd say it's over for this season especially without Hayes and Ellis.

They are playing with zero heart, zero desperation and have zero answers on the offensive end. It is starting to look a lot like last season. For the last 2 off seasons we have had the need to add some scoring. We haven’t. It’s the same old top 6 forwards with zero difference makers or scoring threats. The 2 mistake contracts of Koenecy, JVR, are killing them. Kane has been put on waivers. Claim him, he has size, speed and is a good goal scorer, the Canucks are listening on Broser and Horvat. Broser can help with our scoring issues. Shake it up. Give the coaches a few options for the top 6. Even if we made the playoffs and are fully heathy, we don’t have enough scoring depth to make a playoff push. Adding a Kane, makes our top 3 lines much better.
