Look no further than how Dolan has handled the Knicks for a full and complete example.

Madden is probably Andre Savard 2.0. Hoping I'm wrong.
- J-P

I prefer Madden resume as a scout executive then André Savard tbh. Look at the current Ducks' roster, about 80% of their players were drafted by Anaheim. But I could be dead wrong as well...

As for Darche, he is learning from one the league's best. (Brisebois and Yzerman are my 2 favorites GMs)

This kind of makes me laugh. There is no such thing. Even the guys that are seen as being the best drafters have had a ton of huge misses. Because they are kids and it’s not an exact science. GM’s need to be communicators first and foremost. They need to make the plan and direction then put the team and staff around them to make it happen. Thinking one guy to coming in and fix everything is delusional. Yet that is how nhl owners try to do it.
- TurdFergeson

Despite being an exact science, I would say some teams have better strategies than others. I've never been a fan of drafting by positions need (see KK) instead of the BPA. Now, do I think only one man will change it all? No, but if the new guy in charge give his team the good orientations, I would say that he positions himself (and his organization) to succeed.

at the end of the day, they all have a great resume. but will it click between them? can they work well together? do they complete one an other? that will be more important than the resume imo.

So that should discard Patrick Roy from the convo then? Didn't end up very well in Colorado with his big ego (and he is my childhood idol).

Agreed on the synergy of the management team, as a GM myself I can confirm that But that is also why i chose Madden Jr and Darche, they don't strike me as big ego/selfish guy. But I don't know them more than that so, your guess is as good as mine.

that's why I don't care much who Molson will choose. plenty of good candidates.
I'm actually more curious to see who will replace Timmins tbh.

Recruteur pour la région du Québec, il ferait la job par contre. Mais j'y laisserais même pas gérer ses bobettes.
