Bill,

Are the Flyers waiting for Allison to be fully healthy or just enough healthy that he could get hurt again upon his return?

Make it a challengable play. If the refs are wrong, penalty shot! If the challenging team is wrong, they give up their timeout and go on the PK.
- SuperSchennBros

Or if it’s that close, leave it and if a goal was scored go ahead and let the play be challenged by the opposing team. That’s more logical then just blowing the whistle in that situation IMO.

Could of been a game changing missed call.

Happy Turkey day.

All I can say is being there was fun, good game to watch, Panthers carried the play but the Flyers has some push and jam. The ref after the first seemed to be upset with the Flyers. You could see during TV timeouts when Flyers went up to speak with the ref, he was upset

Gobble-gobble, HEY!

Regardless, there's still no excuse for him and the other ref not to do their job and make calls when they are warranted. Too bad the good old boys running the league will never make their officiating crews accountable for such frequent poor job performance.

And a Happy T-day to you, Bill, and all the other Buzzters as well!

The nature of a high ankle sprain is about pain tolerance. Its not something that can be reinjured like a torn ligament or broken bone. If Allison can handle the discomfort there is little chance of reinjury, and playing on it wont slow the healing process.

If hart plays very well today we’ll lose something like 3 or 4 0. I cannot see them scoring more than 1 lucky goal.

No secondary scoring, no true sniper, no PP, no breakout capability, yeah you are probably right.

Not a bad idea by @phillywhiteout to buy out JVRs contact, Right now it would be roughly $9.6M over 4 years, so the cost is less than $2.5M per and after this year it only gets better. I said weeks ago JVR is dead weight and at this point he really has no trade value at his price. The game had moved beyond players like JVR who don't skate well, don't use their size and can't score unless deflecting pucks

It sucks but I expect rope a dope strategy with the hopes of winning 2 1 like last game until we get Ellis back. Hard to watch and even harder to be successful at. Hopefully frost can help give some creativity but it’s a lot to ask from a young player. Here bud, you’re now our 2c and we can’t score. Fix us. Haha

If this year goes completely pear shaped I can see a buyout for him. As we all know, if he isn’t scoring he brings nothing so it’s not good right now

This team stinks. Therefore imo it is pointless to buy him out now.

Not even sure they can as isn't that window closed for buyouts?Ride it out this year then reevaluate after the season.

No it's a very bad idea and your numbers are not correct.

You cannot buy out a player in the middle of a season.

A buyout of JVR would result in a cap savings of 2.6M with a hit of dead cap space of 4.3M in 22/23 and a cap penalty of 1.3M in 23/24

Have you reviewed Rule 56, Interference, 56.2 yet?

Is what you state in your final sentence in this post a new development? All Summer long you were saying that the Flyers would have no problem trading JVR.

I was kind of kidding when I said to buyout JVR cause I figured you aren't able to do it in season anyway. It was just my frustration boiling over to see a guy making that much cabbage skating around aimlessly most nights. To borrow a frame of reference from the movie Youngblood(for all you old farts on here), "he could skate around out there with a carton of eggs and not break any"!! Perhaps this team needs coach Chadwick?

So they get to play another fast team this afternoon. Glad I'll be busy for the most part and won't be able to watch much if any of what will be the usual Flyers chasing around a team that is much faster than they are at every position. Yippee!!
