Spezza and Simmonds lug Clifford around?

Maybe it’ll be Ritchie Simmonds Kase

- Garnie

They’ll drop Kerfoot into the third line C role, bump Engvall and Ritchie will be the 2nd & 3rd line wingers (not sure who goes top 6), and Clifford will be played on the 4th line.

Pretty safe bet if Kampf is truly hurt and will miss games.

Truth is tho, it’s these kinds of injuries that make Kerfoot way to important to trade, otherwise who becomes the shut down C?

One could argue that Engvall also provides that versatility for a fraction of the cost

Unfortunately, he is inconsistent 🙄

Why mess up the JT line when you can play Semyonov? They need to get him into games more than Clifford.

I’d leave Kerf in top 6 and try Engvall or Spezz as 3c

That’s just me

Looking at the 5-second slo-mo looks bad. But watching the full sequence, I don't think Kupari saw him until the last second and braced himself. Very unfortunate for Kampf.
- jmatchett383

He did it 2 seconds after he was stopped point blank on a scoring chance on Campbell. It was intentional, he was pissed off, and should be suspended. Its the kind of hit that needs to be eliminated from the game. A cowardly head shot on a defenseless player that didn't even have the puck.

His goal was on the third line.

He’ll be moved… they’re not having a rookie C on the shutdown line

They won’t want either of those guys playing the shutdown C. Spezza isn’t fast enough anymore to compete with top lines and Engvall is good on the wing on that line but I don’t think he’s stable enough at C to be their shutdown guy.

McCann, decent player on a poop team going nowhere. It was either him or Kerfoot because of salary - he makes $3M. I'm very good with Kerfoot.

Freddie should do well on a team stacked with 10 years of top ten draft picks. He still sucks ass in my view. When you really need a save, that five hole the size of the Grand Canyon opens up to let in a softee. Not so much for Campbell. Couldn't afford $5M for a backup goalie, which is what Freddie would have been on the Leafs.

Dont mess with the JT line yet.
Id try someone else in the 3C spot first. If it sucks, then use KF.

Umm what top 10 picks from the past 10 years are they "Stacked" with?
Kotkaniemi - trade from Montreal
Svechnikov - their own pick
Niederreiter - Islanders pick 11 years ago

Anyone else?

Leafs top 10 picks when they had Freddie:
Matthews
Marner
Willie
JT - drafted 12 years ago
Reilly

I agree, the Leafs couldnt afford Freddie, he had to go. But he doesnt suck, thats just foolish

They finally have all their lines working. I don’t see why they move Kerfoot off his stronger position to play C and weaken JT/Willie. They brought a C in case a C was injured. They know he’s a rookie and now they’re going to mess up lines 2, 3 and 4 because they just remembered he’s a rookie?

Keeping things working 5v5 has got to be a top priority and seeing what they have in Semyonov is a secondary priority.

Who slid into kampf’s spot last night? Or was it a revolving door. He went down early and leafs were still able to dominate the game.

Not sure that actually defines Carolina. Aside from Svechnikov, who did they draft in the top 10?

Off the top of my head, no one else?

All of the above?

I feel most people are only waiting for the new management to be announced so we can look towards the future, because you just know nothing is coming out of that group.

I'd feel much safer with anyone else but Trevor Timmins making that top 5/10 pick for us.

KK is no longer a top 10 pick because he's not a Habs?

Well he wasn't drafted by Carolina.
