I don't think any reasonable person thinks Strome is as good as Barzal. But while not nearly as good as breadman, lets not pretend Andres Lee isn't a pretty good player in his own right. While elite players are definitely hindered by not having the right help, they can often boost those around him. For NYI case, Tavares elevated Moulson and Okposo.
I just think it's a somewhat valid point they expect a bit more. NYI does need to make acquiring better wingers a priority at the TDL though - 2sticks1puck
While the Blue Waffle or whoever he is can be annoying, I actually see a good fit for Tarasenko with the NYI. I do not want to see that happen but I would not be surprised. |

Right, Strome is a good 2nd line center. There are teams who have 2 1st line quality centers so it is unfair to compare him to those guys (Crosby/Malkin, Kuzy/Backstrom, Matthews/Tavares, etc) - picklerick
It is also very unlikely for the team to ever have that. It's either draft luck/fortune or lots of money and one of the players wore Toronto pajamas. |

While the Rangers are entering a precarious time with regards to the salary cap you have to appreciate the balance in the lineup.
I would like a little more consistent skill in the forwards but the potential appears to be there. |

I will try to decode myself. IF not for fox, the Rangers could have traded for Eichel and had a two top line center team

While that would have been kick ass I am more comfortable with where they are at now. Eichel will hopefully be fine after the disk replacement surgery but that is a big unknown right now. |

Although I absolutely love what Trouba brings, I think the error was trading for him and not resigning Hayes for almost the same exact money. I guess we had no idea at the time that we would have Miller, Fox, Schneider, Jones and Robertson all in the pipeline

He would be a great fit for them. I don't want to see it either, he looks finally healthy. All those guys have to do is score just enough and they will be a tough out for anyone.

That's Hayes with now 2 core surgeries. That contract is going way south quickly.

we would be so strong up the middle: Zib, Strome Hayes

I get it but that could have been such a ripple effect keeping Hayes. Remember he departed before they won the lottery the second time.
Edit He was gone before they won either lottery. |

you are right about snarl but both zib and strome kill penalties pretty well. We could use a 3rd line center with snarl. also there arent many Bergeron or Barkovs and none that would ever be available - Greschnergy#4
I agree, wasn’t as much a post against Strome as it was reminding everywhere where the knocks at Strome have been targeted in the past. |

That's Blais is a nutshell. Every time the kid started doing well in St. Louis he'd get hurt. Either he has the worst luck in the world or he needs to up his conditioning. |

His style of play isn't necessarily conducive to staying healthy |

Joe Pavelski could be an interesting trade option to fill the void we have at RW with Dallas looking pretty awful this year |

That was not a matter of conditioning, it was a questionable play by a player who has been getting away with it.
Blias has come in and performed admirably, this is a brutal injury for him. Terrible. |

I know it’s a long term contract at 5.5 per, but if Montreal decides to blow it up, I’d like to the Rangers make a play for J. Anderson, they already like the cry baby Krastov. Maybe there’s a match. |

It's going to be Phil Kessel. Be prepared now and I honestly don't hate the idea |

I like that idea but I just don't think it fits at all. |
