I saw it this morning too. It's because someone decided to mix fancy stats into their reasoning. The issue with that is it isn't indicative of recent play.
- JRR1285

I feel like it should be all on recent play since they do a new power rankings weekly

Gallagher fined $2,500 for the sucker punch. He is making $5,000,000 (real cash, not cap hit) this season. That's the equivalent of someone making $100,000 getting fined $50. These fines do not discourage the behavior they are punishing whatsoever. real dumb.

Maybe do it in terms of games so it scales by salary and actually means something to them? 1 game's worth of salary docked would be $60k and he'd think twice about doing that again

That's why fines will never be at an effective level

Had Kravtsov passed the maturity test and waited a couple of games, that would have been his spot.
- aecliptic

Had the Rangers been willing to admit they got fleeced in the TBL trades that would have been his spot.** Fixed that for ya.

unfortunately I am old enough to remember; While not nearly as good, Gallagher is Bobby Clarke. You hate them unless they are on your squad and then you love them.

I guess it all depends on how good Nils ends up being. If you add up all of the trades during that time we did pretty damn well. Nash got us Lindgren, Spooner and the pick that got us K'Andre. Spooner got us Strome. Zucc got us the pick that became Robertson.

When Montreal sent Caufield down to the AHL, it seemed to garner attention.

However, the Kings just demoted C Gabe Vilardi due to his poor start ( partially due to a bout with COVID ) and it has seemingly stayed under the radar. I am not a fan of Vilardi but a swap involving Kravtsov might make sense...

not considering cap space, I would give up a lot to get him on the Rangers

i don't want any part of a player who's still getting over the effects of COVID until they show they've fully recovered without any lingering issues. I'd be as cautious as possible with that

Id say for the most part we have come out on the positive end of our trades.

Besides the Strome one, another domino effect trade that looks to pay dividends for us was the Holden to Boston for O'Gara and a 3rd trade. That 3rd became Joey Keane who was traded for.... drumroll..... Julien Gauthier.

I miss Gorton a bit

#Habs Gallagher on the late-game incident with #NYR Goodrow Tuesday night: “I kinda’ expected (a fine) to come. There are two sides, and there was some acting going on. A lot of players have too much pride to do what he did.”

"Acting"

Even if Goodrow embellished that, GALLAGHER (frank)ING SUCKER PUNCHED HIM. Is he claiming he didn't sucker punch him? That the video feed was digitally altered in real-time?

eh - i mean ur right gallagher suckered him and he's the only blame here but i think goodrow did sell it a bit. but whatever, do what you gotta do to make sure he's in the box. wasnt a dive or anything but he sold it, peaking at the ref while down.

easy solution on gallaghers part - dont sucker him.

god id love gallagher on this team

Gallagher sucker punched Goodrow. Anything that Goodrow does as a result of that is irrelevant when the catalyst was.. a sucker punch. His quote to the media is just a distraction by a cowardly little man who's only outlet for frustration is acts of violence against defenseless players. He doesn't want to take any responsibility for his own fragility

habs fans believe its pay back for a cross check to the neck a couple of years ago ( Im sure goody reminded him of it at the dots) and not that he didnt get sucker punched but that there was some embellishment

my point is a sucker punch is infinitely more cowardly than embellishing as the recipient of a sucker punch. he's just trying to distract from that because he is a weasel

I would include any defensive prospect not named Schneider for that weasel.
