We were all pretty much stoked to bring on Gallant. He took a newly established team to the Cup finals in their first year. I still don't think this team is out of it just yet.
- Fenrir

I was fine with it but always found it weird he never lasted more than 3 years at any previous job. Not giving up on the season but through 12 games they when looked like a playoff contender once against Columbus. Just not good so far

They were brutal tonight. Actually didn't think they were bad in the first, got worse as game wore on. Give Markstrom credit as he stole at least two goals, but not enough from way too many. Not getting a blog up tonight, as would just be anger from me at this point. But way too many missed assignments and too much room for Calgary on the ice. Plus good news, they get to face Florida on Monday.

The scary thing is this team is cap’d out for the next 5 years. So if they can’t figure it out there isn’t much hope

They have to call up zac Jones and Morgan baron. They need a new push

They need to end this Tinordi nonsense and put Nils back in the lineup. But it has me thinking, Nils has been scratched for the whole Canadian trip. I wonder, is he vaxxed? Supposedly everyone did, but I cant help wonder the coincidence there.

The one problem with scratching Nemeth is we loose a decent PKer.

Yup they are pretty (frank)edZ Laf and Kakko not nhl players right now. They have no plan B. Years of being mediocre

I agree with that. Tinordi should go. Nameth just seems useless unless he is there with nils to offer support

This is the scary Thing about rebuilding. If you don’t hit with your top picks, your turn into the Sabres. Not saying they reached that point yet but this season has been troubling so far

Well, if they bring up Jones, then Miller would be there with Nils not that Miller has been particularly amazing as a support guy, more so par for the course there.

Lindgren/Fox
Jones/Trouba
Miller/Nils

But I think the bigger problem is the offense needing to do some serious soul and chemistry searching.

Miller has been as bad as trouba this year. He could use time in Hartford also

I am open to breaking up the Trouba and Miller pair. It hasn’t worked so far

The thing is we dont even know what we have in our prospects because theyre playing in a system that isnt friendly for them. If they were on any other team, I feel like we would be seeing some thing completely different out of them.

Well, all the more reason to scratch him. How dare he show up Tinordi by getting a point.

Let's see if this post goes back in time.

I stopped watching at 4-0 and played games until the clock rolled back.

It's one thing to have somehow earned points in 9 of their first 12 games in starting 6-3-3, with 9 of the 12 played on the road, & then succeeded through Nov. 26th by a net total of 14 of their first 21 games being away from MSG. One of, if not possibly the only other team who will have played more than 14 road games of their first 21 are the Isles having 16 of 21. But that's due to being forced to play their first 13 on the road while awaiting the opening of their new home arena. Practicing when able to do so while on the road is short of all the benefits of doing so at your own practice facility, when the Rangers will have the ultimate benefit thereafter in their schedule as will the Isles.

Despite 9 of 12 played on the road, the Rangers 6-3-3 start is deceiving. In their 6 wins, they scored just 18 total goals including empty netters, vs. allowing a miniscule 6 total GA. But in their 6 overall losses including three in the 5:00 overtime session, they have only 11 total GF, and yielded 27 GA. And 5 of those 11 goals scored came in that one 6-5 OT loss Friday to the Oilers, making it a total of just 6 total GF in their 5 other combined overall losses.

Most embarrassing in their two losses to the Flames by a combined 11-1 score was not only allowing the Flames 74 SOG in total against Shesty, but even worse 133 Total Shot Attempts during those 120:00 of play, to misconstrue Shesty's otherwise inhuman playing numbers thus far in yielding only 9 total goals against in his 7 other starts in going 6-0-1.

Exactly what is it that makes the system unfriendly to Kakko and Laf? And what type of system would make them more successful, because I’d love to see it.

This is my concern too. I really don’t think either will be busts, but there’s been plenty of factors working against each of them including COVID, coach/systems, minutes/type of minutes. Also not sure the veteran group has many true inspirational leaders. Why else would they go 4(?) years without a captain. You can see it all over the ice too, no heart.

The Rangers started out slow under AV the first year and then turned it around and went to the finals, perhaps this team can do the same.

The fact this team is 6-3-3 is shocking. They played 1 complete game all season and that was against Colombus. These young kids need more time to develop but I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed with the lack of playmaking ability by Laf & Kakko. I thought we would see more glimpses of consistency from those 2 at this point. Maybe I’m asking for to much idk

You guys might think I’m crazy but I would fully support sending Kakko, Laf, Miller and Nils down and bringing up Paj, Barron, Jones, and Schneider.

Would soften the blow if all 4 go down together, give the team a bit of a different look, and send a message all at the same time. Also like the idea of them spending some time with Knoblauch who may have a different approach and message that may help get through to them.

Really thought Rangers would win last night.

But after watching the game.. ya know some teams just have your number.. Bad matchup whatnot.. I think that more than anything is the Flame issue..

For whatever reason it just seems this yr.. Flames just really match up well with what Rangers are trying to do and conversely Rangers just don't.
