I definitely have concerns about Zib. But with LTIR and the cap savings that come with it I am not too concerned. If Zib is healthy enough to play, he will be productive.

I just really think they need to get someone on staff that actually knows how to take draws. Not a referee that watched a lot of draws.

That's my big thing to, I feel like faceoffs are more of just either you are good or not. You can practice as much as you want and study as much as you want but if the guy across from you is just better will it matter who they bring in to train them?

Wait, so they swapped 2023 3rd round picks in this deal too!? Assuming Vegas is getting the lower of the 2 unless Buffalo improves significantly but that’s a really weird contingency.

Hard to look at the return and not get annoyed but Buffalo had to be asking for more from NYR if they had to keep him in state. If Drury couldn’t have made a similar deal, that’s a huge FAIL.

- TC88

The issue is, with NYR being in the east it was always going to cost more.

Jack Goes out west, Sabres dont have to deal with it unless they somehow play him in the cup finals (Big laughs from everyone)

Just curious saw this posted, does this sound right and would you have done it.

The NYR equivalent deal is:
Kakko
Chytil
2022 1st
2023 2nd

- ImThatGuy

That’s only close to equal if NYR get Buffalos 2nd rounder back as well as in the Vegas deal.

I am with you! Eichel would have been nice in addition to and not instead of. Also Strome is so under valued by this board. His production will be hard to be replaced. I personally do not believe he is a product solely of Panarin. He has produced with the Rangers in all situations. he even looks nice this year on the PK. he has shown us that he is a team leader also and they all love his Mom. If they can get him at a reqsonable rate with out a NMC - it think ti would be great. I for one wouldn't mind trading Krav for little Strome as well.
- Greschnergy#4

In a perfect world Strome is retained. I am just not sure he fits with some of the other head scratcher contracts they did over the summer. Nemeth initially seemed kinda cool but I have soured on that. They're not even (frank)ing playing Nils.

That's actually a fair deal. I love Kakko but agree you got to give to get

That doesn't bug me, the Rangers already suck at faceoffs to begin with. I said in the past I am not building a lineup based on players who best attribute is winning faceoffs

I know that some of the faceoff prowess must be innate skill but come on, it has to be teachable to an extent. They just haven't found anyone to come in and do it properly.

maybe its the Joe Madden in me but its always been a head scratcher why its the center who takes the draws. Shouldn't it be the players who are best at it regardless of position? Especially important defensive draws where you can put on the ice who you want?

That's a fair point. Laf seems to be good at draws. Just have him start taking them.

Yesterday, I watched the videos of all the fights against Washington in the aftermath of the Wilson debacle again. Made me love Strome even more! He seems to be a fantastic teammate, as well as producing above 90% of the rest of them.
If we can fit him in at an appropriate rate, sign me up for another go round with him!!

seriously though, does anyone cough* cough* Jan cough* cough* have a direct line to ek to tell him get on that?

I'm sure there would be enough people willing to donate to the cause if his memberships and weird ads aren't enough to get it done

Get yourself an adblocker or two. I have AdBlockPlus and uBlock Origin (on Chrome) and, aside from obviously blocking ads, you can use their remove element tools to just flat-out zap parts of the website away that you don't want to see. I got rid of that list of blogs on the right side of the main page.

I haven't seen an ad or anything on this website in years.

This is all I see when I log on:
