They are playing well and working hard. The bounces haven't been coming like they have the last three games. It was due to happen. They did get one bounce but the official blew a quick whistle.
- Thunderbolt

Yup, but if you don't play this way you almost never get the bounces. This happens even when the lineup is healthy. Especially against a goalie of this caliber.

Dude they are generating a ton of chances. Jarry had a couple of miscues and Vasi/the post have been strong. They arent playing that bad.
- burgh4life87

I would really only blame Jarry for that glove hand snipe but even then, it was a (frank)ing laser beam. Backhands are impossible to read for goalies and that McDonagh clap bomb, Stammer had 3 guys chasing him, and Friedman walked right in front of Jarry when McDonagh let it rip.

I simply don't want to ever watch Sam Lafferty play hockey again. Can't we look at someone else from WB?

Crazy to me that they trade Phil only to acquire a younger version of Phil that can't shoot.

They called up bjorkqvist but he is in the box. I hope he takes his place next game.

Looks completely unengaged, but yet still gets the 2nd most ice time of any forward on either team.

And I know our luck couldn't continue forever, but a little frustrating that 3 seconds and 2 inches and that is a 3-3 game.

Man, if the refs blew the whistle as fast as they just did then the Pens win that game against FLA.
- Rinosaur

Right? Imagine if there was a quick whistle for an uncovered puck in a Stanley Cup Final elimination game. This place would clearly be upset by such an injustice.

Nah, knew that was a BS whistle too. Nash got cooked on that call. The Ekblad goal second game this season was unreal how long the ref let the play go while he had no vision of the puck compared to how it's usually called. Now I'm not complaining about it because it's way over with and this stuff happens sometimes, just calling how I see it.

I'm not saying the team wasn't trying or working hard. I'm saying this is one of those games we could have won with a little more talent in the lineup. Maybe we still lose because Vasy is an animal.

I just don't think anyone on this board should be able to complain about a quick whistle for at least 10 years.

I wasn't complaining either. Just saying the puck luck wasn't nearly in our favor the way it has been during our last three games. We've scored quite a few goals off our opponents in our five game run.

We hit a couple posts last night, that was exactly what the Leafs did in Saturday's game. That's a different game if one or two of them go in.

No, the concerning part is these guys started to think they're good. Hopefully this knocks them down a peg.

Fvck I gotta activate Sid off IR a day in advance to have him in my lineup tomorrow night...

Anyone else pick up any tidbits from tweets or elsewhere that there's a good chance he's in lineup tomorrow night?

Did anyone else know that the Fridays and Buford's Kitchen closed right by the arena? Freaking shocker to me

Pregame show had him working on face-offs. That was one of the reasons he's been held out.

Well I wouldn't want them thinking they're not good. Maybe not world beaters, but they shouldn't think they can't win games without their stars.

Never ate at Buford's, only heard about it because of that tub of lard on the radio always talked about it.

It's not like the Pens played a terrible game against a talented Tampa team. They had chances, they hit the iron a couple times and Vasi was dialed the (frank) in. Would have liked to see a bit more push in the third, but the 1st and 2nd the Pens played fine. I don't think Tampa's current record is indicative of how good they are.

Pens need to figure out their PP though, it's been struggling this season IMO.

It's definitely not. They're in the post B2B championships lull. Early games of an 82 game season. They know it's a marathon, not a sprint, and I totally expect them to start stringing together winning streaks in the near future.

And I don't think a lot of things should happen the way they do, but here we are. That ref said he made a mistake blowing the whistle too early btw.
