It's all COVID-driven, in my humble opinion.
Ties are dead. Which is too bad, because I like ties. But no guy is ever going to button up his top button ever again.
You'll still see a few guys in finance and law wear the suits and ties - but only for important meetings.
Anyone not in finance and law? Chinos and jeans.
You already saw it in certain sectors, pre-COVID - I used to laugh/grimace at the digital teams showing up at work in hoodies and ripped jeans. IMHO it looked awful, but good luck hiring 20-somethings in digital if you enforce a dress code. - Atomic Wedgie
The sentimental moment of turning my tie collection over to my son when he started work didn’t turn out the way I had imagined |

Yeah I bet you’re right
Thankfully when I used to be in an office I was only expected to wear a golf shirt (since it had a collar) with jeans or khaki’s due to the fact I was regularly going into the plant or out onto site.
Never wore hoodies and if my jeans were ripped it’s because I was caught off guard that day and some caught them in some rebar or something similar. Lol
The internet s like you said Covid is changing dressing expectations socially in general |

Once upon a time, the goal of sports television was to entertain and inform the viewers and encourage them to watch games. Today, if you'll forgive me, the goal seems to be to encourage the viewers to place bets on those games.

I guess so? But the best way to draw in an audience is to gamify whatever it is that you're trying to sell. |

Being able to bet online makes it such an easy sale these days. If they were to focus on that even 20 years ago it would have essentially been telling people to leave their house and go bet their money at the store |

God damm you guys - now I'm craving the Keg!
I can't have it because my men's league hockey starts back up tonight & we got the 7pm game. It'll already be a challenge for me not to puke inside my net at some point in the game due to being out of shape from not playing in over a year, having a huge gut full of steak wouldn't help.
I will be equally exhausted from trying (unsuccessfully) to stop the puck and from pulling it out of the back of the net.
I promise if there are any very entertaining goals against me in this game I'll post the video here.
Now off to have the Phil Kessel pre-game meal of a nice tube steak on a bun!

I think it's important to recognize that fantasy sports is a form of betting and likely accounts for a pretty large amount of viewership.
At least for the NFL |

Man, I could go for a baseball top sirloin cooked chicago blue with a twice baked potato on the side and a keg sized glass of zinfandel
The Keg is kind of like McDonalds, I always get the exact same order and I never regret it |

Kid said it took a couple of shots and a very bad rebound goal to get back into it. On another front, my wife insisted on Lobster which we ordered from the Keg and which she enjoyed. I got a burger cause I’m not going to eat a delivered steak. |

Oh yeah, the way you can bet has opened up significantly as well, back in the day it was primarily just choosing the winner and betting on the score as well |

Delivery steak is iffy.
And tbh steak is probably one of the lowest effort diy meals anyways, not worth it to order. |

My fiancee and I were talking the other day and remembered that I bought tickets for Elton John back in July and we hoped that we didn't miss the tourdate for some reason.... time seems to just blur together these days. Turns out it's in October 2022 so we got some time. |

You know how they hire hockey players to give their opinions on hockey?
And they hire architects to give their opinions on architecture?

That’d be nice but no I think it’s the dudes from his last album. The last time I saw him, I think about 6 years ago, he was doing a lounge singer routine on a big festival stage in the desert which was kind of crazy. The only other time I saw him was at the Forum in Montreal in ‘74 or ‘75 when he toured with the Band. I know Win has seen him a bunch of times. |
