Like I said multiple times, Lou Lamoriello didn’t give him signing bonuses in his first contract, essentially (frank)ing him over, so unless Dubas was willing to let him sit to start the year he bumped up the contract to make up for it. Then the cap lockdowns happened after that. We would have been looking at roughly 90 million by next year otherwise. That way I doubt people would have complained about his contract nearly as much. - Dozzer
didn't Leafs also had a chance to sign him for 9 mil on 8 yr contract? I think that was before he played the final year of his first contract.
The rumour is MacKinnon will be with the top line and Crosby will have Marchand and Bergeron
I like that second line tbh due to the fact that those two wingers will know each other as well as anyone and Crosby will absolutely be amazing playing with that - Dozzer
No matter what Canada puts out there they’ll be impossible to stop.
Hoobs, Connor, and Mitch are probably the best skaters of the bunch so I’d like the see them together.
I’d like that Begeron-Crosby-Marchand line as a 3rd line. A little older, they would be more effective with fewer minutes.
I’m willing to bet his agent asked for it and told the leafs that he wouldn’t even let Marner sign something without it. He was 21 at the time no way in hell that he was the one making the primary financial decisions. - Dozzer
I wonder how much he pocketed from that contract what 10% ish.
nice little pay day.

you’re a tad over judgemental on that kid lol
I’m willing to guess what you did wasn’t on tv, in front of 18 thousand people, or broadcast in multiple news sources
At least I hope not - Dozzer
The point was I would have ran into a fire at that age, not shot multiple pucks over the glass.
No way I'm saying I have his talent, just saying he's a chicken.

Rather stressful day - but good outcome.
Sitting here in my backyard, watching Bruins vs, Flyers.
For the past five years, about two magic nights a year, neighbours over the back fence have rehearsed their Dixieland blues band. Great, but not really in my wheelhouse.

This year, different genre.
They are currently playing Fisherman’s Blues.

Interesting, I heard an album by the Waterboys years ago that was interesting. Music to play when there is plenty of liquor flowing.
I saw them. On a Rainy Night in Soho, through a Pair of Brown Eyes. Wait that was after drinking a Stream oh Whiskeys, so maybe this is all just a Fairytale of New York.

“I hate this guy, he’s good but he’s not good enough”
“No way he’s good enough it’s this guy who isn’t good enough”
“No way he’s fine but this guy is only good enough 75% of the time”
“Yeah but your guy hasn’t done this or this for this long”
Fan favouritism and over the top judgement about wingers is being made beautifully - Dozzer
