I'm not saying he's not good. I'm saying you would have a better team if the money was used differently, reallocated. you cannot win a cup with 4 players.

An elite regular season player. That is undeniable. Will be a bottom six forward on the Olympic Team. No chance he is RW1.

MacKinnon already said he’s taking reps with Marner only cause Sid was playing with McDavid. He also mentioned how gifted Mitch is and that they were really good together and that he doesn’t deserve the crap he puts up with in Toronto.

The posts today

“I hate this guy, he’s good but he’s not good enough”
“No way he’s good enough it’s this guy who isn’t good enough”
“No way he’s fine but this guy is only good enough 75% of the time”
“Yeah but your guy hasn’t done this or this for this long”

Fan favouritism and over the top judgement about wingers is being made beautifully

- Dozzer

Oh and I can complain about centers too, Taveras has looked pretty sad these 4 games.

Whats you point?
No fun in complaining if you can't complain.

- bobbyisno1

It’s even more fun to simply mock the complaining!!!

It took a few weeks but I think I’m finally returning properly lol

So? Who gives a flying (frank) what Nathan Mackinnon thinks about how Marner is treated here?

Oh man don’t say I’m awful. I think Marner is a good player man. I also just happen to think Nylander is a good player. In the discussion regarding value I just think Nylander is a better value.
Just hockey talk man.

- Big23Questions

S’all good.

Didn’t mean to suggest that you were awful, and the disrespect Marner gets has nothing to do with Nylander. Just that he doesn’t deserve to be treated so poorly.

He looked better the last couple tho, and had an assist Monday

He’s coming around.

Marner and Matthews will come around sometime this weekend is my guess, once Matthews gets what little bit of rust is still on him look out

Here is some hockey talk for you.

Nylander is killing penalties.FACT
Nylander is playing more minutes at the end of games in which the leafs have a lead. FACT
Those facts would lead most logical people to believe he has improved his defensive play significantly.

Nylander led the team in playoff scoring playing with a 3rd line center and a winger who could barely get a contract this year. FACT

Marner actually looked really good last game. But Matthews couldn’t find the back of the net, so none of Marner feeds got in the scoresheet.

Indeed they will. Marner will get going once Mathews starts zoning in.
The good news for you guys is Matthews to me looked like he gained a step speed wise - this should translate to him being able to get more chances from ‘slashing’ through the offensive zone into open areas with the puck.
I read that he picked up some tips from McDavid (and McDavids skating coach) last couple summers. My guess is he will look more ‘hoppy’ this year.

He only hit the net with 50% of his shots

He’s still a tad rusty

Like I’m saying tho, I fully expect him to break open this weekend…. He’s that close

You mean almost like Marner is not a point generator without a better player to play with and score goals. $10.9m??? P. Kane $10.5M.

Nylander in the playoffs with scrubs generates offense. $6.9M.

Hmmmmm???? Not sure but something seems off to me.

Like I’ve been saying, Matthews only hit the net with 50% of his shots, he’s got a small touch of rust to knock off yet

To be fair Sportsnet thinks otherwise and has him on a line with McDavid and Mackinnon

https://www.google.ca/amp...ens-hockey-roster/sn-amp/

- Dozzer

I could see Marner on his line. I could also see someone who can snipe with McDavid as he gets a ton of assists and creates a lot of open space with his speed.
