I took a closer look at the Robertson penalty at the end of the prospect game and I'm not sure why he crosscheck the Columbus player what looks like in the chest/throat area.
What was the "burr" under his saddle ? |

That is awesome.
Having grown up here, I know that I completely take it for granted. I've always voted (and a few times have very much regretted my decision!), but I've never felt it was _important_. - Monkeypunk
I post this every election, including yesterday, so forgive me if you have seen it before.
In the mid-1990s, I was doing some business in Vilnius, Lithuania. I was in my mid-20s.
A bunch of kids my age took me to the communications tower (think CN Tower, but much smaller - it was where the TV and radio signals came from). In 1990, when they had declared their sovereignty from the Soviet Union, they seized the tower (and other important assets).
The tanks rolled in. They joined hands in front of the tower and tried to prevent the Red Army from re-taking the tower (they were not successful, and a few died).
We went to the top, and I bought everyone a few beers. They had stopped talking about the whole thing - had moved on to other topics, but I remember being deeply, deeply emotional about the whole thing. I couldn't imagine doing the same.
I think about that day every single time I go to vote in an election. Democracy was that important to those kids - I'd damn well better respect it. |

Sending a message to Hailey Wickenheiser:
He will not take it down a notch.
He will not find a lower gear.
I mean, what the hell has Wickenheiser ever accomplished, in hockey or elsewhere? |

I like minority governments. I know it can all come crashing down and it's more expensive and blah blah blah . . .
But whether you're for the Conservatives, the Liberals, the NDP, or whoever . . .a minority government actually best represents what people want collectively.
The Liberal agenda is too liberal for most Conservatives, and the NDP agenda is too socialist for most Conservatives. The Conservative agenda is too corporate or conservative for most Liberals or NDP people, and the NDP are too socialist for most Liberals and not quite corporate enough . . . whether you like their social policies or not, at it's root each one of these guys is offering something that we all need in some degree.
A minority government forces each party - no matter what their agenda is - to work together to give the people what they want collectively. - Monkeypunk
Agreed
As long as they work together. |

Ah ok.
Still pretty weird.
I live on a court that has 5 houses on it....so it would be really strange for someone to sneak a nap on my front yard. You'd really have to go out of your way to do. |

Hahah ...I live in the same 'hood. Doesn't surprise me.
Do you have a nice lounge chair on the porch? Did she/he tidy up the pillows?
I had the windows open last night and it was a loud night. I heard a couple good late night parties going on.
At the very least that guy/girl owes you an apology for not inviting you. |

So looks like Dozzer is deleting a lot of posts.
I don't want to hassle Dozzer - looks like he has set the bar a little lower than we expected, so let's just not talk about yesterday.
My political movie question still stands, though. |
