Probably because his team has made the playoffs 15 out of 17 seasons he’s been GM. The last two seasons was the first back to back playoff misses. Before that his team only missed the playoffs once. That’s impressive.

Incredible player in his prime and played over 1000 games (and over a 1000 games as a GM).

He’s about as connected as you can get within the hockey fraternity.

Does two bad seasons get you fired?
