Carol Schram: Sizing Up The Canucks' Competition In the 2021-22 Pacific Division Will the Vancouver Canucks' playoff prospects improve once they return to the Pacific Division next season? In addition to regular dates with Vegas and the newcomers from Seattle, a couple of California teams could be on the rise.

Thanks Carol.

With this draft not having generational or real elite talent at the top end and in the previous couple seasons as well missing those players. I wonder how much LA/Ana prospects will be able to move the needle for the team for them to rise up the standings.

Quite a few good prospects they have but didn't have rookies last season do something like Kaprizov in Minny.

Rookies that are scoring .60 are good years but they don't move the needle as much as a PPG player.

Which why a team like the NYR after drafting Kakko and Laffy didn't shoot up the standings the same way Toronto did after adding Marner and Matthews.

Jim Benning says the Canucks will be better next season because they're heading back to the Pacific Division.

While I expect the Canucks to be better than last place, JB is just setting himself up here. I guess he knows if he doesn't turn it around he's fired, but if the Canucks falter in the "easier" Pacific Division does he ever get a GM/AGM job again?

That's the Benning I remember - we're going to be better because everyone else will suck.

Sometimes Benning is better to not say anything.
I will go out on a limb and say the Canucks finish 6th in the division, but, may change my mind after the off-season.

I'm expecting a lot of shitty hockey games, Van vs San Jose might have me a sleep before they drop the puck. There will be a lot of 7pm games this year.

Like the Flames chances more than the Canucks to make the playoffs.

I think with everyone wanting out of Calgary at least we can count on those wins

Drance - Benning has informed Schmidt’s camp that they will do whatever it takes to improve the club.

The replies all say "So Benning is going to resign?"

Maybe he's trying to sell the Schmidt camp seasons tickets.

When I read that this morning I thought to myself what is Drance going to tell us next? That they will need to wear skates next year if they want to play hockey ?

I was tempted to tell him thank you Captain Obvious .
