The owner wants to save 10mil, its not because of cap issues.

At this point, I would guest most of us have no idea what to expect or what is going to happen.

I think it is clear that the talent is there to contend, although a ways to go still before winning. The problem is that the effort is so sporadic that it is impossible to have any confidence in any assessment of the team.

Boston crushes the Leafs on special teams, making the "good, veteran non-call"s all the more impactful.

Just a couple general thoughts for you to ponder

1) Other situations being bad, or even worse than your own, does NOT make your own situation good, or even "OK".

2) The Leafs get the most attention because they are in the largest hockey market in the most hockey-interested country in the world. It has zero to do with whether or not the fans, or the media or whatever are assessing them unfairly

This is a good post, most teams kill leafs on power plays. Leafs PP is about 6th in the league - which is acceptable - but they could use a hard point shot - and someone willing to take it - this is not really the problem though. Leafs are about 26th in PK - which is dreadful - I could be wrong, but big salamis on opposing teams have a field day in front of the net during PP with the smallish and gentle d-men in front of the net.
