Brilliant!

Sounds like the situation is tense there today. Police moving in trying to clear the occupiers. People in gas masks, bringing their kids in there as a shield.

The freedom to use their children as human shields. Nice.

The “amendment” chatter on Twitter is pretty hilarious. Apparently the 1st amendment in Canadian terms is The Manitoba Act

It warmed my heart. Much like the chicken convoy against fried chicken. For the record, I don't support them.

You need to photoshop in some Canadian flags and poorly spelt signage to make it even more realistic.

Ya, me neither. I am fine with people protest, as long as it is civil.

Agreed. I have no problem with people protesting. However, as long as protesters know that there are responsibilities/consequences that come with civil disobedience.

If you break the law or the protests become illegal, I have no problem bringing the full force of the law down on them.

And before you (the lurkers who read this thread but pretend you don't) think I'm talking exclusively about the truckers, think again.

I'm talking all protests. If you (the universal you) have no problem with what the truckers did, then you shouldn't have any issues with Greta Thunberg type protests, Project Extinction shutting down bridges, environmentalists shutting down the port, logging protesters shutting down logging roads etc.

I have a problem with those just like I do the truckers. Protest all you like but when it's illegal, don't complain about being arrested. With rights come responsibilities. And if you support the truckers right to protest and shut down borders etc., STFU when it comes to other protests.

Happy with people protesting peacefully and lawfully, fine with people protesting with civil disobedience as long as they're fully aware of the consequences and accept that going in (with the asterisk of overt violence/terrorism from both the protestors and the police, that's not cool).

I think *most* lefty protest people are accepting with being arrested over civil disobedience, there's a long history of it from the civil rights through environmentalism and so forth.

I was going to mention something about that.

It used to be that protesters accepted and knew that they would be arrested. It was part of the deal and the arrests/aftermath (courts) was part of the protest.

Now, it seems that everyone (in most protests) thinks that just because their cause is "righteous" (based on their own logic/beliefs) that there should be no consequence.

It's just another version of entitle-ism. "I'm entitled to protest and exercise my rights without consequences."

I call that 'fcuk around and find out.'

I’m listening. What kind of cheese? Soft and squishy, maybe a little stinky, or more likely that fake cheese they pump on nachos at a stadium.

Anyone read his comments over Russia/Ukraine? God I hope he just dies soon and he never holds office again.

Speaking at a political fundraiser held at his Mar-a-Lago country club in Palm Beach, Fla., Trump admired the Russian dictator's strategic success.

"I mean, he's taking over a country for $2 worth of sanctions," Trump said. "I'd say that's pretty smart. He's taking over a country — literally a vast, vast location, a great piece of land with a lot of people, and just walking right in."

...

"I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine, of Ukraine, Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said in an interview on "The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show."

The ex-President added: "So Putin is now saying, 'It's independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' And he's going to go in and be a peacekeeper. That's the strongest peace force," Trump said. "We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen. ... Here's a guy who's very savvy. ... I know him very well. Very, very well."

Trump is a moron, and I’m not condoning what’s going on right now, but this has been an inevitability since US and EU backed militants took over the government back in 2014.

Imagine if Russia and China backed a faction that took over control of Mexico, and allowed those nations to move military personnel and equipment into Mexico on the border with Texas.
