You can say that about pretty much everyone on our roster right now. Someone has to play with him.

Virtanen is a straight line high volume shot player.
He gains the zone and lets off some low probability shot and expects Pettersson and Goldobin to go an collect the rebound.

He actually didn’t look terrible the last couple games with him, so given the injuries.... Though I wonder what it would look like with Baer and Boeser on his wings. Stick goldy and virt with Bo.

Going by what Benning said last week I don't think he has intentions of shopping Tanev. He was more tight lipped when it came to talking about Edler but Tanev he came right out and said I have no intention of moving him.

I don't think it was a smoke screen . I think he wants him here with they youth process.

I agree but what if a team is willing to grossly overpay for Tanev?

In a perfect world, the Canucks keep Tanev for defensive stability and trade Edler for a piece of the future.

LH is exaggerating about Tanev only playing 40 games a season or half seasons. He hasnt played as little as that since 2012. Last season was extra bad... 42 games. It takes more than one season to claim an average anywhere near that low.

I am not sure what team would grossly overpay for him. Would have to see an actual offer.

I’m not sure what the offers could be, but there are teams that could use a shut down guy like Tanev...Toronto, Pittsburgh, and a few in our own conference.

The rumor was last year TO offered a 2 nd and Neilsen or Leivo . Both were lowball offers . Not sure what Pitts could offer. They don't have a lot to trade

Definitely not if Goldobin is on that line, he, Goldobin, can't make a pass to a moving target and only looks for Petterson.
I would rather see Jake with Bo and Roussel, until we ģet some bodies back.

What EP did during the last minute or so of the game was great.

I really don't GAF about the loss.

not much going to the net.

we have malhotra, somebody else on the team has to get good at face offs.

there was a lot of skating around, skating fast. but nobody was really going to the net, with the puck or not.

mainly just looking for EP

how many times did Goldobin pass the puck behind someone at the blue line?

lots of passing in the skates

He makes long passes to players that are checked, as well.
If Petterson wasn't so good at retrieving pucks out of nowhere/in his skates, Goldobin would look even pooptier than he has.

frustrating seeing guys carrying the puck, they have time and they decide to pass to someone covered or just miss.

just lots of passes in the skates, too many players can't pass.

at least once or twice a game EP is in a spot for a one timer and he has to really adjust to get a shot off or move to get the puck.

Agreed. Hopefully things get better when Brock and a few others return, if not, the top 10 pick will be a nice addition.

Barry Trotz is putting Luca Sbisa into the Islanders' lineup tonight, just for us!

I don’t disagree that it’s not a good fit, but I don’t know who I’d put there instead. Eriksson I guess.
