IMac says Bozaks asking price was too high Canucks dropped out. - VANTEL
When Bozak doesn't sign in the first couple days, he will drop his price tag. Guy has never done anything to make him worth 6m. |

ITs not just utica all the players in the league dont play like the nhl the league as a whole is very watered down. I am not the only one thinks this.. its much harder for a pure skill guy to develop when everyone else is playing water bug hockey. - mauryballstein
It is slowly getting better around the league. within 5 years there will be a lot more skilled players per team than there is today. |

He's 32 and declining. I'd be surprised if someone paid over 4 per season for him. |

Chicago didn't want Chaput but just traded for Schroeder - VANTEL
They just wanted to free up that extra contract in kero. |

If Bozak gets 6 its attrocious - how that look to the Horvat and Brock camps? Loui Erikson is bad enough... |

Let’s just hope the Canucks don’t come circling back |

Yeah, this is why it's good to have an extra pick or 2 per draft while rebuilding, eve if they're later picks. The more lottery tickets, the higher chance you find a needle in the haystack. - Nucker101
True but my fear is over saturation of prospects & too vanilla. We need the already drafted players to step up & be legit difference makers. Getting to the point we need high quality vs more quantity. |

Which is weird since he’s waived exempt, a good AHL player that doesn’t count as an “AHL vet” and has played okay in call ups.
It’s possible that he maybe asked to be moved to a weaker team to get a chance to stick in the NHL maybe?
Not that it really matters but I found the whole move bizarre |

It's taken 5 years to get it started. - A_SteamingLombardi
We knew that going in given the cup run mentality we went through. All good & lots of hope now & just needs patience. |

I’m all for getting Spezza. A perfect fit to get the kids offense going & we can eat the money no probs at that. I’d say a 2nd is all the Stars would give up or maybe a prosoect but I’d prefer the pick instead for the draft in Van next year. - Nighthawk
Ya, I'd take the 2nd too. But I think with Jim's track record in trades I'd shy away from a prospect, unless Ty is already a prospect. |

No such thing as too many prospects. The more, the better. If you have prospects competing with each other just to get AHL time then you know you’ll have a strong development program where the scrubs get trimmed early.
Having prospects directly competing with each other and pushing each other to get better is a dream scenario actually.
Better than having just a few decent prospects put that get put on a pedestal |

The league is far from watered down on the contrary tbh. Its evolved way past that. |

I still think you guys are overestimating how badly the Stars want to dump him. He only has 1 year left and there's some belief that he rebounds away from Hitch.
If they sign Tavares then it's a different story. - Nucker101
It would only work if they sign Tavares, however they have to sign 9 players and only have 19 million (if my memory is correct) to work with. |

The Center market is more bare than ever. Someone will take a chance on Spezza for 1year without demanding the Stars add much to the deal |

6smill for Bozo makes LE look good lol
LE has been a big overpaid disappointment but can only do better. We’ve seen Bozo’s best & its pretty average at best. |

The prospect was an after thought not a wish. The key is Spezza would be a great help for the kids in what he can offer. An offensive C is important for us. |

Yeah i dont really get it either. He is perfect for a teams AHL depth. Contract management is a big part of running a team though so bowman might be up to something |

True but its the 50 contract max i refer to. Yes as long as JB continues a revolving door attiude if he sees no hope for prospects being a fit down the road. Aka Subban. |

In the vein of 'weaponizing cap space' does anyone know if a team can trade for the remnants of bought out contracts? |
