Honestly, 2M for him isn’t bad. This is why it’s stupid to trade assets for toughness, you can just sign this guy for 2M instead of trading McCann and a 2nd for Gudbranson.

You also need to see how this ends. If Gudbrandson has a great year or if he gets traded for a second and you draft the next Jett Woo then it is not as bad as people say.

I know, just a cautionary tale for the future though. People keep acting like it was just McCann too but the 2nd round pick hurts too.

I’d keep all draft picks until this a playoff team again, unless a deal is too good to pass up

...or a pick swap that is an upgrade as part of a trade is fine.

I think they are pretty set at this phase now of keeping picks.

Just realized Wallmark was qualified so just Shore is a UFA.

I believe kids like Gaudette, Dahlen and Goldobin should be on the team, they've been developing for long enough. Time to show your worth at the NHL level. But the coach has to be willing to teach at the NHL level.
