We don't have anything anywhere near the counter poster on his theme either. Think, can we find a person who pushes the opposite extreme? Do we hear "Benning is one of the best GM's", "Canuck's are already contender's for years", "all team's rebuilds suck except ours". So I don't understand the necessity to go to such lengths to stretch to the extremes so often. Drama peddler. Old world culture rubbing off on him at work(don't try and picture that).

Not that Lefty's necessarily wrong. He's just not that right because of his dislike for Benning. - DariusKnight

I think so . I could see them start as a third line but grow into a second line |

How did you kid do playing against men last season? How did he do out on the ice against players like McDavid?
Hughes played against men the last year and played against the worlds top hockey players at the Worlds. He was on the ice for 1 goal and it was a clunker that had nothing to do with him...
If the kid shows he can play... play him. He's incredibly mature for an 18 year old.

I didn't watch the world championships but I thought someone, maybe even Carol had reported he played the majority of his time on the PP and averaged less than 10 min a game.
Don't get me wrong it's incredible he played at all, but using the WC as an example of his readiness to play against NHLers is a reach IMO.

I don't see an issue . Sign him bring him to camp . If he is fully ready keep him on Canucks . If he is not Utica baby. |

He will be a good player regardless of whether he plays pro or not this year. I don't really care if it is College or NHL/AHL. As long as mgmt doesn't use its pressbox development approach a la Virtanen and McCann. |

Jake is a funny comparison. This year he could come to camp as a third line player or a second line player. He is a bit of a blockhead but seems to be getting better year to year. |

I'm not making a comparison, I just don't want mgmt to sign Hughes, start him in the NHL and if he can't hack it, refuse to send him down to Utica. Like they did with Jake originally and McCann although it was juniors instead.
I didn't see much improvement from JV personally but definitely think he can be a good NHLer in this league for a long time but more of the ilk of a Brouwer/Chimera kind of guy than what was hoped/expected when he was drafted. |

Well some are broken records on the same old worn out tact. Nothing can change their minds. Stubborn comes to mind. As for me i said a few times no rush to call in the hanging judge. This is the season if the results show no real strides forward. Furthermore i said again on more than one occasion the 2019-20 season is the year that counts most. The micriscope is on JB here on in & his job is on the line. Now who was it thats paying for JBβs Toastmaster Course?
Anyone care to quote me on JB is the best or worst will have a difficult time finding it in the archives. I chose patience as I do with the team during this rebuild. I also said i like TG & his coaching style & stand by that.
Anyone wishing to dispute the above can leave a message at the sound of the tone & Iβll get back to you asap. πΏππΏ |

I didnt say that Mr. I didnt watch it. I said he's ready to play against men because he has already been playing against men. You are misquoting me. I've stated that if he's not ready for NHL, he'd be better off in the AHL than college. You are very confused.
Love your position that you didnt see him play, but someone,,, just can't remember who.... said something about 10 min a game so something I didnt say(the opposite in fact) is a stretch.

When you look down on ppl in a petty way its easy to find a fault. The idea of blame you heap it all on JB no matter what the hand he was dealt. Thats fine if there was any credit given to him but your slant is always one-sided & if taken seriously he should have been fired the 1st time he spoke.
So back to hockey...
Is the talent pool in good to great shape yes or no?
Who gets the credit or criticism?
Are we out from under the burden of NMC & NTCβs from the past regime?
Other than the obvious the LE deal looks to be an epic failure to date is there anything of large magnitude that has set us back? |

They looked to have decent chemistry over a short span. JV ought to build on his season ending play. |
