God the summer is boring now.. maybe we'll sign Butcher? - MeltingPlastic
yes, sign the bastard
it's kind of weird, the team desperate for defensemen can't sign Butcher but they get Kerfoot |

Now that Kerfoot decided that I don't even know what the (frank) he decided, Vancouver was such a better option than Colorado, Gorton has have something planned to improve the Center depth, also Farnham is a waste of an invite, would rather give the minutes to kids and see what they have |

Had not been totally aware until yesterday when I took a good look at the roster, but I really believe the team is in desparte need on at least one forward, maybe two.
With Fast and Pumpel being the 13th and 14th forwards, that leaves little room for injury or non production. Not to mention, I don't see a whole lot of competition for jobs upfront.
Not a bad thing necessarily, but thin nonetheless. |

as somebody who defended Stepan for so long, often did it alone, I just can't believe how panicked everyone is that he's gone now
the team was 4th overall in goals last year, and Stepan went through long stretches when he didn't produce anything. I think we are gonna be fine.

That's true. It's a shame Stepan refused to work on his skating over his career with the Rangers, might still be here if he did.

Last year they were forward heavy and thin on defense. This year their Defense will be much stronger especially the top 4 of McD, Shatty, Sjkei & Smith / deeper on the last pair in that they can rotate Staal, Holden, D'Angelo and possibly Pionk, Day, Graves and Bereglazov. If they cant find two good guys out of those 7 by mid season that's a problem.
Up front, they are very thin at center, but if you get guys like Kreider, Miller, Hayes & Zib continue to progress and then Buch and Vesey take the next step. I think they will be more than ok. outside of injuries. Lias at 3c is the big wild card, but with strong wingers perhaps it eases the transition, or you move DD to 3rd and let Lias play 4c even though that's not the ideal scenario.

Will Butcher is still visiting NHL teams. 3-4 still in the mix. Decision expected either this weekend or start of next week. |

Just talked with Alex Kerfoot about why Colorado and not Vancouver and the process. #Canucks
Kerfoot on why Colorado “It was about opportunity and I think I am ready to play in the NHL.”
Kerfoot on the #Canucks “Great meeting with the Canucks at the rink, they made a real professional pitch.” |

Kerfoot will probably end up ending Duchenes career in a collision during training camp. Just seems that no matter what Sakic does, it ends up (frank)ing them. |
