At some point you have to. What good is asking a question if no one knows who these people are? Once the generation who grew up these players are gone, there will be no one with too much knowledge about the players. I dont know 90% of the players listed here so I didnt vote. You can look up all the stats but stats cant give you the full picture. For the sake of argument lets pretend Chicago originally had Ovechkin and traded him to WSH for Toews, both as prospects. Based off Stats Ovechkin is the better player but Toews lead the Hawks to 3 cups. At a certain point the only information people will know about these players are the opinions of those who are no longer here and that is only if there is a record of that. I wont be surprised if we lose a lot of our history within my life time. I fully expect to live in a world with nuclear war.

I wasn't around for all of these trades and was a kid for others but if taking a historical look at the worst trades of an organization, that has to include the whole history. It's also why I broke it up in two parts for the initial voting: this blog, which is 1963-1994 and the next blog that will be posted, 1995-present.
