Yup, and once you got on Brooks' bad side, there was no recovery. Regardless of why deal was made, trade was a bad one. Huber never panned out out as he was just a big body, Osborne was a nice player and Blaisdell was nothing, despite his prospect status.

this is one trade that was just sad because Duguay is one of those guys who loved the Rangers and loved being a Ranger as much as any fan does

like Dave Maloney, if he couldn't be a Ranger, he just would rather be a stock broker, that's why he retired so young

Nick Holden for a 4th

I have no issues with this trade. He exceeded expectations early which set up unrealistic expectations. He was misused late by AV, as he should have been out late in Game 2 against Montreal and Ottawa. If he had been deployed better, those late game breakdowns might not have occurred or at least not cost games.

Plus look at his production the next three years in Detroit compared to what New York got back.

he contributed fine for a one season at the expense of a measley 4th rounder, especially 1st half of season

but, it's hard to erase a couple of those gaffes from the Ottawa series out of my memory

ultimately though, he's just in the way now, young D like DeAngelo need to play

nope he stinks....STINKS

The first half of the year, Holden was very good. Then he hung around with Staal and went to poop.

thats just Holden, he makes you feel like he could be good then he just goes back to his old ways of being a dumpster fire trying to break out of his own end

Gentlemen, can I trouble to hold off the discussions on deals from 1995 forward. I promise you they are all in that blog. I debated having just one blog but with 36 deals overall, I felt separating it into two blogs made the most sense.

I was reading these thinking, "Jan is stewing right now!!"

As I said last week, I don't know enough of the franchise history to have a valid opinion on these trades. One thing that does stand out to me is that my father has been a Bruins fan since the late 40's and Middleton was one of his absolute favourites, so probably not a good one for us.
