I think he can do it. Mcgregor is 29 and Mayweather is 40. Mayweather hasn't fought in 2 years and hasn't been training like he used to these past 2 years either. Just from seeing guys in hockey like Callahan or Girardi turn old overnight, I'm hoping the same has happened to Floyd.

Then when you see them stand next to each other, Mcgregor is bigger in every way. Bigger hands, arms, legs, torso, muscles. Taller too. And mcgregor has a freakishly long reach, arguably the longest for that weight. Mayweathers had a really long reach too which has been one of his weapons with a 72" reach, but mcgregor trumps him even with a 74" reach. For comparison Canelo Alvarez only had a 70.5" reach and Pacquaio had a 67" reach only.

Mcgregors been studying the movement of different animals for years. He's obsessed with it. And that's resulted in his ability to attack from angles no one else could even imagine attacking from while still maintaining knockout power, moving forwards or backwards or sideways. This is why he'll be able to land on Mayweather.

And finally, mcgregor boxed for years before diving into the other MMA disciplines. Boxing is his foundation and that's how he wins all his fights in the UFC - standing up, boxing.

This is why I think mcgregor can pull it off.

As I said before, I am hoping mayweathers speed and reaction time is slower due to age, and that mcgregors angles paired with his ridiculous reach will give him opportunities to land hard punches.
