Great point about Beauchemin, that could be a huge problem. A lot to consider when reshaping the Avalanche roster. In a perfect scenario if this trade were to happen the Avs move Beauchemin(or he agrees to waive the NMC) and Barrie (In exchange for a more defensive oriented defenseman)then protect Johnson, Shattenkirk and Zadorov. I still think the Avalanche should gamble on one of their big budget players like a Varlamov and expose someone like that to the expansion draft. Shedding salary could be a potential advantage in another year or two if this team reloads. With other salaries dropping off (Stuart, Iginlia, Mitchell) The Avalanche could find themselves with enough cap room to be a player in free agency. It certainly is a fascinating time in the NHL.
