Been there, done that.

Eventually I just focused on rooting for individual players on my squad so that I wouldn't focus on the losses.
Draisaitl scores 3 points but Oil lose 6-3. Still a happy camper.

Yeah this is hardly some melodramatic "I'm not watching the Islanders ever again" thing. I just needed a break.

Problem is that I've already been through the "OK I hope (player x) succeeds" thing, in the years after JT was drafted. I'd watch games and just enjoy seeing the improvements in his play from game-to-game and season-over-season. But I thought that phase of being an Islander fan would be in the rear-view mirror for a little bit longer than two seasons.

I haven't even been watching the last few games. I may be (usually) level-headed in here, but I get way to worked up over this sh!t. I needed a break I was getting way too stressed out over this team.

Yup very frustrating to watch

This is probably just a brief revisit. Transitional year. If the losses continue to pile up I am confident that the new owners will clean house.

Their sentiment isn't wrong. I just don't get the enjoyment of repeating it all over and over. Nobody disagrees.

Teams definitely have transitional years, but this is coming at the worst possible time..with Tavares' contract looming large.

Yes it is. My hope it that the wholesale changes that need to be made will act as an incentive for Tavares to resign.
Hopefully ownership has already stated a dialogue with him.

So would I.

Can you imagine Talbot bearing down on Lundqvist? Would be a glorious spectacle especially if he scored.

I haven't even watched the last two games and it's been nice. The Oilers game was on while I was at my parent's house on Saturday, but I was standing outside by the fire and not really paying much attention. I did watch the shootout and it was pretty ugly.

Although, they did lose their two best shootout guys in Nielsen and Okposo...and Tavares blows in the shootout. So it's not like they have a lot of attractive options to choose from.

Yeah but you've got to be kidding me with the selection

I know Grabovski is hurt but Grabo, Kulimen, Ladd & Lee total about 20 million in salary and they have 1 goal scored between them all . Please Canucks win this game tonight
- Vukota

Pretty sure most of the fan base is on board with this.

Nope but if you go off topic they crucify you I mean it can't all be doom and gloom. The team is a train wreck so far and jt sucks at the shootout but he's still better than chimera has no one told him to just pick a corner and not over do it? Bailey should be out there and clutter or strome/ Nelson. At least these guys posses either good hands or a good shot in the shootout. I can't root for a loss because idt anything will change staple said there have been no talks of a coaching change so let's hope for some wins. Now if they are gonna be bad let's hope it's a total poopshow so they fire garth campy and we get a high pick, I think jt stays regardless.

"Next up is Wang's fat son. He needs to score here or else the Oilers will head home victorious"

"WOGS SON IS CHUH-CHUH-CHAN-CHINESS, BRANDON. THEY DON'T PLAY A LOT OF HOCKEY IN THE LAND OF CHINEE, BRANDON"

"Your right, Butch. And my name is Brendan, not Brandon."

Lot of cherries popped in that game. Here's hoping they turn in goal scoring sluts.
