This makes the most sense. If LA can have 2 teams and Islanders, Rangers and Devils are all separated by a taxi ride, there is no reason why the GTA shouldn't have 2.

I watched Chara play junior in PG. I'm shocked he made the NHL let alone had a hall of fame career. He was just a big oaf that couldn't skate very well and gooned it up. It goes to show you that some guys are late bloomers.

come on people, this is 2 offseasons away if at all. These teams will / can change dramatically by then. Theres no point in figuring out the protected guys hours after it was talked about in media when there's 2 drafts and UFA seasons to go through. We have no clue on the lineup even to start the 2016 season if 2015 was an indication for us.

However what would be ideal is that if the draft is conducted before UFA season of 2017. Then you can expose all your pending UFAs that you wouldnt sign anyways. I have doubts this would happen, the NHL has been crossing its T's and dotting i's lately.

-Keep draftees in minors till exp draft is over with.
-Instead of buyouts (which retain some $ on cap) expose the player.
-unless excellent return, not much movement on TDL 2017 going outward.

I'm expecting him to have a tough time, a couple of bad giveaways and couple of bad plays and then the team 1040 crowd will be freaking out and calling him a bust. In the long run I think he has the potential to be a decent player but I expect nothing from him this year.

nah...Im originally from the east....been through all those cities. Thats baseball country there. Plus its in the east not the west.

Houston would be fine. Huge city thats larger than LA. Think its largest city in the USA these days. So population is huge, they have a successful minor hockey team already so its nothing new....and would be rival w dallas....texas loves its rivalries.

The first glaring detail is the West needs two teams to make it even with the East. Quebec is in the East.

Agreed. I may have heard it incorrectly in the car this afternoon. I thought they were saying the expansion (if there is going to be one) will be announced this June and the expansion draft will be held before the actual draft in June. It was on 'that' station so it could be wrong.
