If you know the expansion draft is coming, wouldnt' you sign some players just to expose them?
- hillbillydeluxe

Yesterday Dreger said the announcement will come out at the BOG meeting that LV will be a new expansion team in 2017. The expansion draft will be held that summer and that it is either a clause in all NMC and all NTC that those contracts are not protected in expansion drafts, or it is in the CBA . But it already has been accounted for.

When was the last time we were ranked 29th in power rankings?

Too bad that doesn't get us the second overall pick.

Sorry for bringing it up. We can all go back to talking about the tank, the Tree and the draft.

As you were.

- fiveandagame

I wasnt directing it at you....just in general. Kinda silly figuring out the protected list now

But good point....at least we are off the tank talk

There's always the news today that Tree will debut. I'm hoping for a huge game changing body check from him to start his time here!

gary has already said there are no other cities making this wave of expansion ...its these 2 max, only 1 or none. No city can come in at this point...

correct....Im more of the wait and see what JB does camp. We dont know, he could trade up, down, draft rankings could change, could even trade it for a marquee player. We dont know.

But 2 seasons of draft and UFA? Save your list from this thread and see at that exp draft if any are still on team even.

2 made applications in time. No others were allowed.
You know this.
quebec city and vegas. It could be both, 1 or none.

personally I think Vegas is a lock in NHL eyes. Both have potential. BUt if quebec is turned away I would expect the chances for seattle in the next round would be extremely slim since NHL has already stated publicly seattle potential ownership has to get its act together.

Quebec will not be given an expansion team. If anything they may get a relocated team

There will be an announcement of the 31 St team to Las Vegas only so far . They will play at the arena of the MGM Grand.

Seattle are dealing with city issues of where to put the new arena and should be resolved any time.

I wonder why you say this. Not that I disbelieve it, It may very well be that way. Just you state it so matter of factually so Im wondering what you base it on.

Mulroney hate by NHL?? lol

I would tend to lean that way simply based on more balance of the conferences.

I'm expecting him to have a tough time, a couple of bad giveaways and couple of bad plays and then the team 1040 crowd will be freaking out and calling him a bust. In the long run I think he has the potential to be a decent player but I expect nothing from him this year.

Exactly, he'll need a good long summer of training and he'll need to drop some weight.

I think that would be a fun trip. Go spend a couple of days in Vegas and catch a Canucks game.

The first glaring detail is the West needs two teams to make it even with the East. Quebec is in the East.

The Vancouver province just wrote an article on the 31 St team of the NHL

Dreger, Freidman , and Kypreos reporting from Miami's GM meetings

Twitter

Articles on NHL . Com ( Bill Daly if there is one expansion team one player from each team will be lost. If two expansion teams , two players from each team will be lost.

2 teams is more fun watching them compete in the draft.
