He is a backup and played very well as has Halak. So what the (frank) are you throwing a third goalie into the mix for if your the coach?

Noel will have more on this in his game preview... But Berube?!?!?! WTF.. I can't even form complete sentences trying to figure this out. Team is in a tight playoff race, can't be pissing away points and this has nothing to do with with JF, my god.. Just when you think this staff can't get any dumber... Seriously I'm at a loss for words

The Isles trying to fix what is not broken instead of fixing the Strait and Zid situation. They are looking to create new problems instead of addressing the existing ones.

I'll tell you what though, Cappy is either going to look like a genius or a moron tonight.

Berube could pitch a shutout on 50 shots and he still looks like a moron.

I agree. No upside in this move at all. Even a shutout with 50 saves is not going to make a GM give up a first line wing for Berube.

If the reasoning is really to showcase our 3rd string goaltender for a trade there are so many things wrong with that line of thinking I don't know where to start.

I think this is a perfect example of over coaching. You have two goalies on your team.....and those are who you should go with if they are healthy. They are professionals. This is their job

The scary part is at some point, both Crappy and Snowjob got on the phone and not only discussed this but both agreed on it, like they were genius'

This was my initial thought. I can't even begin to try to understand why Cappy would start Berube tonight. There is just no adequate justification for it from a coach's perspective when the goaltending so far has been excellent. I think Garth is trying to showcase Berube. Not that I think it's right at all (how much are they really going to get for Berube), I think its coming from Garth. Even for lineup decisions, you would think they converse on it anyway when its such a strange change like starting Berube.

Either way, they're morons for doing this. Tonight is a very important game with Washington Thursday, so hey let's start Berube and hope he's good

I can easily see Garth pushing guys like Strait and Zid. As bad as a coach Cappy is, Garth is a big problem as well.

Yeah if Garth hated either of them as much as he should, he could just waive one or both and be done.

Do you really think Vukota, the closeted homosexual that posts on a Hockeybuzz message board, is calling the shots for the Islanders?

If Vukota was calling the shots, we would have won a round since 1993.

Never a fan of this line of thinking. If its a horrible move by Snow blame Wang. Stupid move by Capuano blame Snow. If he is risking points to showcase his #3 goaltender for a trade he should be fired now. Completely moronic.
