“We had a good meeting before we left,’’ Capuano said. “There’s got to be an accountability factor amongst the guys. It’s going to come from the coaches on who we put in the lineup, but if we’re going to have any success at all and we want to make a run at this, those guys have to hold each other accountable. Great teams have accountability amongst themselves.

Accountability like when you keep playing Zid and Strait and keep Pulock in the minors? |

If only there was someone holding him accountable - PeteM
That's what I found so funny about the quote. The guy deflects the blame constantly and then wants the players to hold themselves accountable. I'm completely OK with the coach wanting the players to hold themselves accountable but to expect it from other people while relieving yourself of the responsibility is hysterical. He does this all with a straight face. |

Well, that's when the, " It’s going to come from the coaches on who we put in the lineup" quote becomes even more funny. Throw Strait and Zidlicky out there at the worst times possible when you have the last change or constantly have them paired with your top scoring and worst defensive fwd group. Keep throwing Nielsen on the point on your terrible PP because you think he's needed for zone entry while keeping your best, hardest shot buried on the 2nd PP unit if seeing any PP time at all. Never ends I can go on forever with this... |

They cannot sit guys for even a period like Bailey when they let guys go right by them without trying to check them. |

We did not need Punxsutawney Phil for that one. |

As opposed to the alternative school of thought, in which you don't play your (frank)ing third string goaltender unless there is an injury - eichiefs9
Is this some trade audition? Even if he plays great it's one game. Trying to make some sense out of this? |

You (Capuano) get quoted as saying every point counts from this time until the end you don't showcase someone with points on the line to maybe get a 4th rounder 3rd tops. |

This may be the stupidest thing I've seen from him all season, and that's saying a lot.
Every point matters and we're playing the Caps on Thursday...but hey let's give the kid a (frank)in spin because Halak and Greiss didn't just have a week off or anything. |

More like Capuano can get him cheap on Draft Kings - PeteM
Well lets break this down...
You have a team that has historically come out slow and disinterested after a long lapse in games. Shat, they don't even show up nine times out of ten after coming back from a break. They've been playing consistently inconsistent and are in a very tight playoff race with 3 teams nipping at their heals and their biggest rivals three points ahead of them in the standings. You've been quoted as saying every point counts from this time on.
This is definitely time to play your 3rd string AHL goaltender over your two NHL starters who have arguably been your MVP's of the season so far.
What else do we need to see? |

I think he may sit Nelson over Quine. He just had 2 goals in the AHL allstar game. |

I am. This is a stretch even for him.
34 games left is a lot of time, but if we lose tonight and our playoff spot comes down to a two-or-less point margin, I'm going to blow my stack. |
