Sweden is a beautiful country filled with great people that have a love of hockey. But it's also a country with an income tax rate over 50%.
But he would unquestionably be the best player in the league. When Jeff Taffe is top 5 in scoring, your league is not so good. - Sandus
Yeah but the lutefisk is outstanding! They also have Victoria Silvstedt. |

Get rid of Rocky 1-6 and that should do it...especially the first one where the big meatball is running all around Philly muttering stuff to people incomprehensibly and jumping up and down at the top of the steps of the art museum like a lunatic to that horrible music. |

Sounds like the KHL is on life support. Some of these guys just want to be paid next year. Maybe they gave Tikhonov a similar opt out to Panarin but I doubt they would guarantee anyone a spot. - tredbrta
Reports of KHL's demise are greatly exaggerated. After all the rumors of massive contraction and league-wide instability, the league will have 28 teams this season. Just like last season.
The only team to fold, Atlant Mystychi (based out of suburban Moscow), is being replaced by the historic Spartak Moscow, who are returning to the league under new ownership. That move is a net gain.
Things aren't perfect, but they never were. To be honest, the NHL was fairly volatile in it's early years as well. The KHL is about to begin its 8th season - still very early in their existence.
The rich teams - SKA St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Salavat Yulaev, Dynamo Moscow, etc. - all do very well. The lower-level teams struggle financially and on the ice. That is neither surprising nor devastating to the league's long-term plans.
Anyway, it is a fascinating league to follow. Think WHA with a Russian flavor if you REALLY want to oversimplify things. And the hockey is much, much better than it gets credit for being.

IDK man Rocky is great...especially the first one. I think the dude is trolling anyway...hes been on HB since 2006...which means he has been on the internet since at least 06. He has to have stumbled upon some Lebowski/Walter memes before.
I bet he has seen it. |

Yes they are! They are pretty nice in here Finland too..but seriously don´t think that Kruger´s option is playing in Sweden at all right now. Teams are pretty much set for next season and don´t think Djugården have that kind of money to bring Kruger back. Maybe for few games but hole season..don´t think so. Maybe some KHL team could try to land him though.. - MjulQvist
Hey MQ, is the financial issue there isolated to a few teams or league wide? Sochi is/was being sued by its players - no one had been paid since December or something. I'm sure some teams are in better financial condition than others but it sounds like a mess. |

Kinda figured - no new team has come to the forefront?
Would be nice to get some closure from a Habs perspective / if they are out of the sharp derby then they can focus on other targets either via trade or free agency |
