Just to be clear I'm not laughing at Kane having a broken shoulder, just laughing how quick you pulled that xray out,
Btw like they don't have any xrays like that laying around in |

Fair enough. Since the Hawks are in a cap bind at the moment, what about trading Kane? He frees up $10.5M and would be able to get a king's ransom for him.
That way they would be comfortably able to keep Versteeg, Bickell, and others. Would give them plenty of options, too. - Dannyboy

No but you made it sound like he would just step right in where Seabrook left off and that's not gonna happen and it may never happen. - BetweenTheDots
No, that is the assumption you and others made. I said that he would be a GREAT return in a hypothetical salary-cap dump trade of Seabrook to Edmonton. Not suggesting that Seabrook should be traded to anyone or anywhere. BUT, it it had to be done(which who knows at this point) Nurse would be a very capable big body replacement with a veryy high celing |

Didnt you say he'd be a#1 defenseman this year for the oil?

This would be a colossal failure by Stan. You move Sharp and/or Bickell for less than they're worth before you move Seabrook. - Bjm84
Exactly. They will package a high-end prospect with one or both of them to sweeten the deal before they end up trading Seabrook. Trading him seems to be an absolute last resort.

I'm willing to bet that he will be on their top pair by season's end. He is a big boy and competes hard |

I took it as if he would just step in and take over. I guess I need to practice my reading skills. |

Remind me again how the Pronger trade is a fiasco?
Are fans really mad that Arizona used his contact to get to the floor? Really? |

How was that a trick?
Kane was legitimately hurt and replacing his cap hit is well within the rules. The timing happened to work out perfectly, but it was legitimate. Comparing it to trading salaries of retired(injured) players is silly. - darkman
Pronger is also legitimately hurt...... |

I have loved his game EVERY time I watched him. Big, mean, fast and underrated offensive skill. IF the situation were to present itself, I would take a Seabrook+ for Nurse+ trade if it was the only Salary Cap compliant option....
- EnzoD
Maybe you should try to READ, and not INFER or ASSUME additional information. Where in this comment do you get Nurse > Seabrook or Nurse = #1NHL Dman today?? where?!?! maybe i need to practice MY reading skills but it looks like I said a Salary-Cap dump trade of Seabrook+ for Nurse+ would be a great return in a Salary-cap induced hypothetical trade. |

No fans are really mad because we have a$4 million dollar cap hit in Bickell and Prongers contract is a $5 mil cap hit, I'm not it's all good I see Bickell on the LTIR once season starts get his surgery on his knees and be ready for the playoffs since really that's why he's here, expensive playoff insurance policy |

I think the ire directed toward Pronger stems from the fact that it's so accepted that he will never play again that he's employed by the league and in the Hall of Fame, and yet he's not retiring because it circumvents the cap. I think this whole thing could've been avoided if you included a provision that allowed a player to retire as a result of injury for minimal or no cap penalty (as long as that player doesn't come back). |

[quotproblem with the Pronger contract/cap hit is he was working for the league in an official capacity and the Flyers were allowed to keep him on LTIR and avoid the retirement penalties against teh cap. |

Kind of unnecessary to say this when he literally just said he should brush up on his reading skills. |
