Highly, highly doubtful. but not out of the realm of possibility as far as a long-term conversation. - John Jaeckel
It would be brilliant to trade Seabrook, a model of leadership and character for the Hawks. If the Hawks end up having to trade him because they can't move 23, 29, and 10 then that is a joke of epic level proportions. Darnell Nurse will NEVER EVER be the player Seabrook is. Very good prospect, but don't want him if it means we move #7. |

Don't know if Sharp has vetoed any of the potential trades but someone should tell him that falling out of favor with the Wirtz family is a bad idea especially if he looking to do anything after his playing days are over
The captain may have to have a talk with him about doing what is best for the team - molly2522

And I heard form a third independent source this morning (from FL, covers the Panthers) there was/is something to this.
With all due respect, Brian Hedger has no more credibility in shooting something down than I do in going out with a story. In fact, if he's getting his info from a team pr hack . . . - John Jaeckel
To kind of paraphrase Louis Jordan, is it "was" or is it "is"?
Too much chatter for it to be "wasn't", I would think.
Don't know his particular objections to Miami - family, city, hockey wasteland, whatever - but seems like it wouldn't be a bad place for a still-viable-but-aging champion - a young rising team with some good young players, played well (but not well enough) last year, new owner committed (for the time being) to succeeding, maybe some welcome anonymity.... |

Presentlye between Chattanooga and Atlanta.
sooo. the hawks signed yet another player, who fits under the cap, but no subtractions.
I just love it!
I am going in the pool, and not reading a one post, because I know there are people stewing here.

just how long does anyone think they will wait. im guessing this week is critical in keeping both. - SaskHawkFan
If deals have beeb agreed upon, it won't matter if the Hawks wait until training camp right?
Did any of you think we were gonna actually get a huge discount to keep JonO around or Krugs at lengthy one?
Now all we have to figure out is who, with a big Cap hit, is gonna take a long term injury for the team so we can add vets at the deadline Cap-free, and be back by the start of the playoffs.

I have loved his game EVERY time I watched him. Big, mean, fast and underrated offensive skill. IF the situation were to present itself, I would take a Seabrook+ for Nurse+ trade if it was the only Salary Cap compliant option.... |

Issue is that this trade still does not fix the cap issues. Still would need to trade more $$ away. |

I thought this Puck Daddy article from a few days ago was interesting in that Greg W has words that have a line through them...

So any truth to these Edmonton Chicago talks on Seabrook? Bob is the media guy for the oilers, so he doesnt bull poop around. - FiretheGM
It would not surprise me if they are talking to Edmonton, but I think the conversation involves Crawford, Chiarelli likes his established goalies |

I would never, EVER trade a Hall of Fame leader for a prospect. Cup run is over in my view if we mess with 19, 88, 2 or 7. Done.
I want this poop over soon so we can put these silly seabrook trade rumors to bed. It's incomprehensible why anyone (other than Oilers fans) would be peddling the trade Seabrook meme. Absolutely not an option.
I wouldn't start talking to the Oilers until Nurse, Dreistetl and Eberle/Nugent were part of the package. Then I'd maybe listen if you bought me some good single malt scotch. |

The same thing could be said about any Sharp trade too. No one move will clear all the space required. |

Yeah don't see this happening, we have a small window here and we would be going backwards if we traded for Nurse, he's still not ready to take on 25 minutes a night

Good. Then the trade is off. Next.

Why is the window so small? Are Kane and Toews over 30? Teravainen is a bust? Hjalmarsson's play is going to drop off because he takes too much damage blocking shots? Trading ageing players (no matter how beloved) for high upside younger players is how you keep the window open longer anyway. |

I think he will be very good too (notice we say WE THINK he will be good), but while he's getting up to speed, we have 81, 2, 4, 88, and 19 in the prime of their careers. You build around that core, not subtract from it.

They are not ordering a pizza they are trying to trade 12 million dollars worth of contract. That is more than most business's annual revenue. Trading a contract of this size is like a corporte merger its not as easy as a phone conversation. - mvp0207
The parameters of the trade would occur after the (potential) barriers required by Sharp to waive his NTC - that's the point here - not the actual negotiation between Stan and Dale regarding whether of not a trade can be agreed upon. The point is there is no point and a waste of time to go into trade negotiations if Sharp will not waive his NTC, and the requirement for Sharp to waive his NTC could have been found out weeks ago. |

I hope some movement happens soon. I don't want to wait until October for some trades to happen. |

Even though he just traded for Talbot? - MTL1
Sure he's always had a steady goalie in Boston, CC is a proven goalie, locked up for years. Talbot will be UFA at the end of this year and is unproven. Didn't the Hawks just trade Nilsson to them. Maybe Scrivens comes back to us |

Would think Stanley learned his lesson after the Leddy fiasco.
If he somehow pulls this off with the 'Hawks putting together a strong roster, he should get an ovation. But if we end up with the Rockford Shuffle and a '10-'11 like team, one would have to wonder how PO'd McD will be. |
