Mayfield for Rundblad then? Done!
What is lacking with Rundblad needs another thread/s. Too much to describe. TVR and Johns should be better I hope. Rundblad is another example though - watch his prospect video on youtube vs where he is today. Completely different look and even the stride has changed. Maybe the coaching screwed him up. Prospects, even first rounders, are crap shoots. - tredbrta

That it is a buyer's market for Sharp has been acknowledged here from day 1. Age, cap situation all acknowledged here over and over again. The report that Stan was asking a 1st, an NHLer and a prospect was never confirmed but seemed to be accepted as truth elsewhere. Many here thought the report would have made more sense as a 1st rounder or NHl player or prospect NOT for all. Obviously unreasonable as reported and time has passed. That doesn't mean Stan will accept a salary dump return for him. Maybe he gets a pick but it isn't Campbell like trade. Lots of Isles posters throwing up zero returns or ridiculous salary coming back (Grabner and Frans for Sharp?). Stan isn't being taken.
Leddy was moved the day before a penalty would be incurred last year. The return was still one of your top 4 d prospects that actually outperformed guys Garth reportedly wouldn't move. No need to crow. - tredbrta
getting testy... i was not one to throw out grabner/frans because that makes no sense considering the bhawks are trying to dump salary...
I agree with the person who previously posted that a B level Prospect + 2nd/3rd is pretty accurate |

JJ, is your contact leaking info to you with the knowledge and consent of the Blackhawks brass? Do they care? - pierregruska
Why characterize it as "leaking"?
JJ didn't say it was a rumor source. Could easily be a source to confirm or refute rumors he hears elsewhere.

How does that work? He had 4 seasons to go before UFA until this deal correct? Blues bought out his RFA time. So is it still 4 seasons? - blackhawk24
I think he only had 3 years left of RFA, I could be wrong though.
Either way, a no trade clause would kick in the first year they would be eligible for UFA. Berglund for example has a limited one that just kicked in on July 1st as this would have been his first year eligible for UFA.
So Tarasenko would have either 4 or 5 years with one on this deal if it was something negotiated, which I assume is the case. |

I don't see the Isle as a good fit for Sharp anyway. I rather him go to Montreal.
Neilsen is meh. He had his career year and the slide has started. His play really fell off last season and he was not very good in the playoffs. 5-6 D-men aren't much either especially with questionable skating. The Hawks use their bottom pair in more of an offensive role with ZS and the likes. - TTtime
Actually, most of us isles fans would want Sharp, but depends on the price.
Sharp would add another vet to team and would help as another option on W between the 1st -3rd lines.
I'd prefer someone different, but if the options are not there, see whats left....
Most know CHI has to move pieces/players for cap relief, so its a matter of who... |

That was a great signing. Really thought he wouldn't settle for less than 8. The term is really good too for the Blues. - tredbrta
Didn't think he would go 8 years.
And thought it would take a lot more if he did.

Exactly. Was thinking he was going to hit the $9 mil mark. Looks like the Blues have about $2.4 mil left for maybe a depth forward and depth defense. |

Terse not testy. No offense. Just avoid engaging the troll. That deal is plausible. I still hope Sharp is packaged with a player like Tropp, Morin or a prospect for a better return. |

Me too. Tarasenko is a player. Should flirt with 40G consistently during that contract. |

"No, there is no proof that steel girders are made of billions of electrons, but you push the up button in the elevator every morning don't you"
i'm pretty sure is proof that matter consists of molecules and sub-atomic particles. haha. See physics circa 1897. - gravis1982
Wow, WAKE UP! WTF do you think molecules consist of...atoms...and we consider atoms the densest material in the known universe...and what are atoms? VAST EMPTY SPACE! If a basketball in your hand represented the size and location of the nucleus, then the mass of swirling electrons representing the boundaries of the atom would be 30 to 40 miles away!!! In between is NOTHING but vast empty space.
Have you ever heard of the Double Slit Experiment? It is now the most REPLICATED Science experiment in history because of what it proves. All of the most respected Quantum Physicists on the planet say the same thing: "if you understand what the results of the double slit experiment mean, then you understand Quantum Physics and thus how the Universe functions". Matter is only solid when we OBSERVE it, expecting it to act as we have come to know it will...but the moment you stop observing matter (molecules, atoms, photons of light) it stops behaving like solid particles, rather like infinite waves of possibilities, quantum soup, where all things are possible and connected as ONE (Einstein's Quantum Entanglement...the "spooky" science)!
If you don't understand this, then I strongly suggest for your own personal benefit and happiness, you study it! There are thousands of brilliant documentaries on the subject, but a great place to start might be Down the Rabbit Hole, What the Bleep Do We Know? If you choose not to wake up to your actual reality, then you might want to stop and think before you speak as there's only so much oxygen available for those who do! |

So lets get this straight
Sharp to Dallas was on the table but it is speculated Sharp did not want to go there (to the south)
Discussions with Montreal fell thru because the assets coming back were not to Stans liking so this option has cooled off.
The Jets might be an option but nothing but no real talks.
The Islanders are rumored to have an offer (their best) and the clock is ticking
Detroit came along to kick the tires
An offer was nearly agreed to with Florida but due to certain demands it has also cooled
1) Stan has a tough job, good juggler since this is not the only ball in the air.
2) It is difficult to be a blogger, as each of these scenerios are probably true and the details getting out are either leaked because they want them getting coverage, are second hand information (not the GM's) or possibly just speculation.
3) For Sharp it has got to be troubling, not knowing what the future has in store, assuming all of the scenerios are real and that there might be others not reported his head has to be spinning

I think this was exactly what Stanbo said to Lewis Gross at the end of their last discussion about a new contract for Brandon Saad. |

Panthers need to maintain plausible deniability to their fans so they don't have to explain why a player nixed a trade to them. So, they get a reporter to say nothing to the rumors.
Also could be a signal that Florida is moving on.
FWIW, I have an office in FtL and have tried to dig since JJ posted yesterday among contacts who are well connected down there. Have not been able to confirm or deny anything. It is quiet down there. |

Obviously FLA WOULD BE INTERESTED in Patrick Sharp if they could secure him for what they thought was fair, so to say that the Panthers are not interested is ridiculous. Dale Tallon secured Sharp from Philly in a trade and knows full well what Sharp would bring to any team! If George Richards got this answer from the Panther's front office, then they told him what they wanted out in the media. Which makes sense for a team deep into negotiations for Sharp, or a team that is NO LONGER in negotiations for Sharp. |

I was wondering what number Anisimov would pick, 15 is a good choice. No number posted for Morin, wonder why that is (said sarcastically)? |
