Yeah, seriously. Live in fairytale land like you always do. I know having an opinion opposite yours, you facist lunatic, or the rest of assembly line yes men that love all the flyers decisions in this room, will get me banned but I don't care.
Am I allowed to not like the decision? Am I allowed to not have faith in putting a coach directly into the NHL from the NCAA? Something that doesn't happen for a reason. College coaches coach kids. They don't coach men and more often then not they don't know how to coach grown men. All of the big time coaches struggle at this: Calipari, Saban, Kelly and it goes on. There was a tremendous amount of NHL proven coaching out there. Hextall better be damn sure, cause I don't feel like wasting anymore of G's, Jake's, or Mason's prime on questionable decisions.
Btw, Hartnell score 28 (frank)ing goals and had 60 points. Umberger had 15 points. Defend that move MJL. Oh right, one year of contract relief. We didn't want to have Hartnell on this team making 4.5 million and not performing. So we traded for exactly what we feared, a guy making 4 million a year who isn't performing with no out from him. Awesome job. - Flyers1218
You sound like an authority on this new coach. I would like to hear more.

I'm younger than you, so I probably don't feel the same level of frustration. But I'm a Flyers/Jets/Mets fan. I had to endure Rex Ryan. I have to watch Terry Collins figure out ways to lose Mets games on a regular basis. I was told our offseason would be massive, and they sign...... Michael Cuddyer. Now, Mike Babcock, Todd McClellan, and Kevin Dineen are all out there and Hextall tells us our number one target is an NCAA coach? In a league that the jump between college and the pro's is bigger then any other sport. When the biggest college coaches in other sports fail miserably as pro coaches. What the (frank) is this team thinking? I just can't take it anymore. |

Why don't you tell me why you are so high on him? You sound exactly the same on the other end of the spectrum. What is it, exactly, from his Wikipedia page you saw that says man he is going to be the first NCAA coach to make it. To buck a trend of decisions not to take NCAA coaches since 1982. Hell, I'd rather of had Mark Johnson and he coaches Women hockey. |

Besides under Hakstol, can someone please list the levels of hockey where Jonathan Toews never won a Championship.
Thanks in advance. - PLindbergh31

What you really need to know is that Brett's chances of making the team out of camp just quadrupled. |

I wouldn't even be pissed. Again, if we take any of the top 10 players, I'm happy because they should all be pretty good nhl talents. - benjichronic
I am far from an expert when it comes to prospects. Crouse fits a large need on the big club right now and has a chance to be in the NHL next year. I do find it fascinating a faction of the fan base goes crazy in a bad way when Crouse is possibly mentioned as the selection. Of course, a lot of the fan base was less then enamored with Morin being the pick. Maybe not a great example because some of the fan base thinks he's already a bust. |

And Matz too, who is a left handed stud that throws 99. But it's the Mets. They will screw it up.
And yeah, Jets, God have mercy on my soul. Imagine my life, every time you look at one of your teams your left with no championships, head scratching decisions, and heart break. This decision with the flyers goes under head scratcher. |

Fantastic reactions from our cross-state frienemies.
My favorite:
The Pens brought in an unproven coach last year and it gave our best young defenseman cancer. Fully support the Flyers decision.

I actually appreciate the comedy. Making my anger subside a little. Brett Hextall and an NCAA coach = beating the Rangers. |

Yup, forgot about Matz. He's the replacement next year for Colon.
The Jets have a pretty solid roster right now, and I like the Bowles hire. Question is where do they get the QB.
The Jets and Mets will win before the Flyers do most likely. |

I actually like him. He throws legit like an 8 year old girl, but he's a good guy. And he's starting to hit the ball. I can live with him. I'm going to go nuts when they trade Syndergaard (who is Matt Harvey before Harvey got hurt) ++ for Tulo. |

Fred Coupon is too cheap to take on Tulo's contract. Don't worry. It won't happen. |

Id like to see the Jets QB's with a coach that can actually develop them. I don't feel Sanchez or Geno would have been that bad, but Rex essentially destroyed their careers bc he was clueless offensively. As were the people he brought in on that side of the ball.
The Mets are not that far off. Could be in the next year or two. Thing with them is that if they get in they can outpitch any team in any length series, including the Nats. But they hit like a bad high school JV team so it won't matter. |

The Stare.
Later in the year, some fans started to wonder whether UND hired the right person for the job.
“I don’t think I ever tried to let that enter in,” Hakstol said. “You’ve got to be able to mentally handle that. It’s easier to say than to do. I learned very quickly in my first year in Sioux City that you have to have a plan and do things your own way. You have to have a real strong conviction. As a staff, we had that. We stuck with it.”
And it paid off.
UND went on a late-season run to the national championship game that season. The team outshot Denver 45-24 in the national championship game, but lost.
“I wouldn’t change anything in that game,” Hakstol said. “We played our best game. A whole bunch of times out of 10, we win that game.”
