Since it seems as though many are pretty doom and gloom right now.. lets look at another recent questionable move...

The drafting of Travis Sanheim.

Sounds good. Interested to see what he can do. Hearing he put emphasis on defenseman making plays.

I think this is a pretty clear indication that the team is going to take its time and rebuild while trying to be somewhat competitive.

There was a question where hexy replied that if he had the choice between a established pro assistant versus an established college head coach, he'd go w/ the head coach every time. He also emphasized that it was important that he and the new hire were on the same page philosophically with where the game was going.

Both seemed like roundabout shots at Chief.

This doesn't seem like it has any of Ed Snider's fingerprints on it, which is probably good in the sense that he's really giving Hextall plenty of leash.

One thing I took from the presser was that he has a " I am in charge" type feel. He just seemed confident. I think this is going to work out. Might not be the popular pick. But finally might be the right pick.

A few days after Mike Green does. Which may be before or after Shayne Gostisbehere does.

Who is new Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol?

Thanks. Good read. Seems like he has a good system in place and can develop our players.

It is a little worrisome that he's the first college coach to be hired as a NHL coach with no prior experience since 1982. But who knows, it could start a trend.

Better than hiring/ firing with our nuts right?

That spells D-I-V-O-R-C-E if your social life leads to weddings by hiring with your nuts. Trust me.

Bobby Orr. Took too many offensive chances. And what was with that whole "skating back into your own zone" thing he did?

Snider: "I'm hoping we have a new Mike Babcock."

Ummmmm.... So Ed is hoping for the "new Mike Babcock" I wonder if he knew the original Mike Babcock was available.

DeAngelo......most games I watched he wasn't always trying that much to play defense.
