Sounds good. Interested to see what he can do. Hearing he put emphasis on defenseman making plays.
I think this is a pretty clear indication that the team is going to take its time and rebuild while trying to be somewhat competitive. - PhillySportsGuy
There was a question where hexy replied that if he had the choice between a established pro assistant versus an established college head coach, he'd go w/ the head coach every time. He also emphasized that it was important that he and the new hire were on the same page philosophically with where the game was going.

This doesn't seem like it has any of Ed Snider's fingerprints on it, which is probably good in the sense that he's really giving Hextall plenty of leash.

One thing I took from the presser was that he has a " I am in charge" type feel. He just seemed confident. I think this is going to work out. Might not be the popular pick. But finally might be the right pick.
Thanks. Good read. Seems like he has a good system in place and can develop our players.
It is a little worrisome that he's the first college coach to be hired as a NHL coach with no prior experience since 1982. But who knows, it could start a trend.

FI-ER HEX-TALL and FI-ER HAK-STOL will chant the same. Clever move, Ron.
panache says new coach is a tough sell with all hi profile coaching names out there also couldn't believe how tight lipped hex has been at keeping the media away with no leaks lol
