does it matter if any of us are on board or not?

let me ask you this...if the flyers had hired dave poulin, former long time UND coach with no nhl coaching experience, would you be on board?

- hammarby31

I just would have preferred a coach with NHL experience. I'm not even saying this is a bad hire. I'm just questioning the logic behind it is all.

I did form an opinion when Berube was first hired, and man did I look like a fool! A FOOL!

he could be the newer, thinner and improved scottie bowman, for all i know, but this came from out of left field. acting like the fact he never coached in the nhl is no big deal is naive and acting like this guy is doomed to fail is not fair either. i just wish they went with a more sure bet.

Think about it this way.... Every coach... Hitchcock, babcock, julien, mcclellen, they all made their debut at one point or another and have all became great nhl coaches.

Everyone needs to make their start somewhere, and for all we know, he goes on to become a league renowned coach.

So refreshing to have a coach that doesn't talk like they're mentally challenged.

For those unable to listen to the press conference, can someone post highlights.

I'm really interested to know who else was interviewed before Hextall arrived at this decision.

I'd be very surprised were the Flyers to list who else they interviewed.

I don't think that'd be very professional if they did that, but that's just me.

i understand that desire. i would have preferred that as well, but i'm open to this situation. it's not as if this guy was coaching at devry tech. und is a top program.

i was never on board with berube either.

So far that he and Hextal have similar philosophies and mentalities. Also that it was a very detailed process. Expectations are simple, Accountability to each other.

So the fans get the North Korea secrecy bullpoop. Ridiculous.

Well at least Hextall isn't using canned answers like "I went with my gut" and all that type of crap.

Holmgren better not be up on the deus.
