Hopefully VAN shows up.

With their recent record against god awful teams, I doubt it.

It would have to be something good, and I wouldn't want them to fall out of the top 5. If you're in the top 5 this year there is basically no way you're going to leave the draft disappointed.

Using the lindros trade as a bar. My asking price via Toronto for McDavid

McCann and Virtanen have decent wheels; especially Virtanen.
- Gullzy

Going to watch Virtanen tonight...hopefully he brings it.

Leafs seem to have a handle on their identity. Nonis traded off the UFAs for draft picks and they realize they are a bottom team going to get a good draft pick.

You know it is going to be a Summer of hell if we finish 17 th and did nothing at TDL .

Summer of trolling .

- VANTEL

It was talked about last fall about what we needed to MAKE the playoffs and contend. We did not acquire the top 6 winger we needed and we sure as hell do not have an impact Dman that can take over games when needed. It is what it is. Most of us knew Benning wasn't going for rentals but there was always a way tto get team needs into the mix. I guess the deals just weren't there and we'll have to deal with the summer crap if we miss.

Flames will probably crush the Laughs tonight, so we'll be 3rd in the Pacific Division.
- LeftCoaster

And then the Leafs will turn around and crush us...

We have to stop playing down to the level of the lesser teams.

I want to see them make it for that reason alone. It has been a way more exciting brand of hockey this season and I think they owe it to themselves to push hard for that wild card spot. LA seems disinterested when they play other teams at times but when we play them they go into destroy mode.

On a side note I watched Horrible Bosses II last night and LA was playing the Canucks in the movie.(weird coincidence) It made me chuckle a little when Jason Sudekis's character said it was a good match up. It was nice to know that when the Canucks go into LA we fill their building.

Poor schmuck like the rest of us destined for a lifetime of unfinished business. How did we ever get ourselves into this.

Correct, goal is to make the playoffs. They are already in a better place than they were last year, and one would have to think this team will be better next season. I'm thinking at least one core player won't be with the team next year.

Poor Schmuck, indeed. While we are all pissing and moaning about it on here, he will be burying this into the pillows:

I'm still hungover from that gongshow of a game last night.
- Gullzy

Me too. Not sure if it was the game or the beer, vodka, disaronno and whatever the hell else I had.

Can we discuss BBQ's again, the Canucks aren't playing until tomorrow and work has slowed a bit?

Argentinian beef is some of the best in the world. I can't say I have been overly impressed with Kobe but I am sure there is a restaurant out there that has a great ribeye. Right now though Argentinian beef is my favourite. Its to bad it is now band in Canada and the US.

Sure, most people around here have to dig theirs out from under 3 feet of snow.

There's some really good grass fed beef available in Langley.

I'm all for continuing the BBQ discussion, especially with clear skies and the weekend on the way.

Couldn't find much to chew on out of last night's game, but here's the new blog:

Grass fed is probably better for you but the fat content and marbling isn't there from being strictly grass fed. My meat needs grains.

I had a terrible thought the other day. Toronto continues to tank and miraculously wins the lottery! It makes me puke thinking about it. McDavid a Leaf! It would be all McDavid and Toronto 24 hours a day on TSN. It could happen. What a better way to rebuild "Canada's Team" and have McDavid as your centre piece.....
- canuckfan069

It's already Toronto 24 hrs a day. I would rather hear about McDavid then Kessel or Phaneuf, tbh. Plus it would be funny to see how quickly they declare that he's better than Gretzky.

Marinating a pork tenderloin with sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy, honey & chinese 5 spice for the grill tonight. Will accompany it with either a Riesling or a Gewurtztraminer!
