I know what you mean but he's better then Reimer and maybe holds down the fort till we find a better #1 (maybe Bibeau pans out)
Bernier been hung out to dry on too many nights...... he'd be better (arguably) if he had a TEAM in front of him.. question is how much better! LoL - thehockeygod
Id draft a goalie soon... Bernier has way to many mental farts at the worst time... |

Geez, some of these trade proposals make Leafs fans sound very similar to Canucks fans when Lou was on the market. - Leafs43
1. The relationship between Kessel and the leafs is nowhere near as bad as the one in vancouver.
2. There was only one team bidding on Lou
3. Kessel is in his prime and signed until long term (but not until he is 40) |

He's paid a ton and barely ever plays... not getting any younger.... If we get a first for lups i'll be thrilled. |

Kids big at 6'4 good skater and plays both physical and technical. GREAT forchecker and absolute puck hound!! Solid LW with a slick shot and decent hockey IQ! Can create plays too!
I'd def want him for the Leafs
If we don't win the lottery ideally the Leafs should draft 1 of
a)Strome
b)Crouse
c)Hanifin
d)Marner
with our potential top 4-7 pick!!
Edit - In that order for Need - thehockeygod

Drafting Crouse would show that we have learned nothing. 62 points in 110 CHL games and this kid is ranked in the top 10? You've got to be (frank)ing kidding me.

Not signed super long term and he produces bang for the buck when healthy. I think he's be a great fit in Montreal.say a second, prospect and PA Parenteau (for cap relief) |

are you comparing the lou situation with dealing kessel? - orienbrady22
No I am comparing the proposals made by the prospective fanbases in these two different situations. Nucks fans were expecting way too much, and some Leaf fans are doing the same now.

he would defiantly be helpful for a contending team if he can stay healthy... |

He's a good kid with heart and soul, but we've now given up a bunch of draft picks and (frank)-ton of cap room to get more "compete" and "character", and look where we are...
He's going to be an NHLer, and if we got him 2nd round I'd be ecstatic... but you don;t give up a top 10 pick in THIS draft to get him. |

There is a reason he is. I know us fans don't like to admit it but the scouts know much much more then us when it comes to prospects. |

Great comparison but I think with the depth we have in the D position (Granberg, Finn Percy) Leafs can pass on Hanifin and get a guy like Crouse.... plays like Rick Nash.. just not as skilled or as quick. I'd def take him for his size.. 6'4! NICE.
I like Zacha just don't see us drafting him cause he's a little further down the list. But yeah he's good. I was at the Juniors Tournament and he stoud out and played really well for the Cechs! |

he might net them a 2nd and a prospect, which is more valuable for a team in full rebuild |
