You can slice it up any way you want fact is he made the team for a reason Dal Colle didnt....
I also never said he was amazing at the tournament.. just said he was on the team - thehockeygod
Chipchura was on the team, Della Roverre was on the team, Cormier was on the team. Just saying. It's something to put on the resume, but doesn't and shouldn't be the big deal breaker on a guy struggling to find consistency in the OHL as a top-5 pick threat. |

If thats the case then ya, dump him in the offseason after he thinks he's a 7 million dollar player at 24 averaging 40-45 points per season... - aminnes
do the trade now and trade to a contender for another pick |

-ship Kessel outta town now...great player but zero leadership and shouldn't be around the new guys...

Where does any of this cop me from?... He's a good leader thats why they want to trade him?... Captain? You guys are overhyping a second line centre... Ask yourself, where is this guy on any of the contending teams? 2nd probably 3rd line on most of them... The cap isn't an issue so overpay?... How is a average 50 point player taking pressure off, because he can play d?... O'Reilly can play d, like lots of guys that make less, he is not the answer for a firstling centre... - aminnes
they want to trade him because they can't afford him, and they have Landeskog.
$6M isn't overpaying, it's what he's worth now.
Yes. he's 2C on a contending Team.
Leafs aren't a contending team, and won't be arguably for the life of his contract.
RoR Works hard. He plays the game the right way. That is what Leafs need for a rebuilding team. And if Leafs manage to get Strome in this draft, he can play behind RoR for a couple years (in a couple years) and ideally eventually overtake him.
and my entire argument for RoR is based on Leafs blowing it up and rebuilding for next 3-5 yrs. Though obviously if that's the case RoR probably doesn't sign a long extension.

everybody should blame the Leafs for the Clarkson deal, not Clarkson...
but blame Clarkson for his play, not the Leafs.
He definitely needs to be better.
I don't think he'll ever live up to his dollars, but if he can actually start playing well..at least like a 4 -4.5M dollar guy, I'll be happy. |

Its not that we want to trade him bc hes terrible, its bc we have no other choice if they want to get any better on D and in depth. I would resign him all day long if it was up to me.
Teams can not build a playoff contending team on spare scrap trades and UFA pick ups. They have to give something to get something |

Takeaways and +\- are not indicative of great defensive players. Getting more than 31 points is indicative of a decent offensive forward. And over 6 mil for a 40 point forward is Clarksonesque - walshyleafsfan
RoR is not a 40 point player |
