Their d cant move the puck is one of the main reasons since they play a man on man defensive system.

If they D man cant exist the Defensive zone with the puck to hit a forward in stride as they did all last season, they are not getting and offensive zone entries like they were last year, and are not shooting the puck enough per game. Multiple sub 20 shot games out of this bunch

So should Huberdeau and Kessel switch locker rooms tonight or....?

Is he married ? Kind of young for that.

he is if it's for 6 or 7 years.

This is IF we move Kessel and Phaneuf, and Bozak.

RoR is a much better influence and example for a young group, and he's someone you can make Captain and not be embarrassed about it (no rush though - maybe give it to Robidas next year so you have a Captain, but aren't committed to anybody long term)

If this is a multi year rebuild, then Cap shouldn't be an issue anyway for 2-3 years, and O'Rielly is a good guy to take pressure off other C's.

Ask yourself, where is this guy on any of the contending teams? 2nd probably 3rd line on most of them... The cap isn't an issue so overpay?... How is a average 50 point player taking pressure off, because he can play d?... O'Reilly can play d, like lots of guys that make less, he is not the answer for a firstling centre...

Time and place, it's free agency. RFA's are under team control. Slightly above average players that hold out like he did aren't worth building around.

Cant do much this season, the players and talent are just not there in the back end and bottom 6 to play the system he wants. He should be aggressive tryign to fix that this offseason, another year to see how he can adapt after facing some adversity this year

He didn't beat out Dal Colle though. Duclair, Reinhart and Lazar beat out Dal Colle. That would be like saying Gauthier beat out Dal Colle. TC always brings a douche 4th line, Crouse was an ok part of it no doubt, but he wasn't really that impressive for Canada.

Takeaways and +\- are not indicative of great defensive players. Getting more than 31 points is indicative of a decent offensive forward. And over 6 mil for a 40 point forward is Clarksonesque
