No but I have a messed up tailbone and every time I laugh it's excruciating pain. Well worth it for the laughs in here though

Carter an Richards are (were) solid two-way centers. Ryan didn't have a prohibitive contract when he was moved.

And yet neither were in the top 5 in NHL scoring for 3 consecutive years. And Carter was a winger at the time of the trade. And both Carter and Richards had high contracts relative to the cap at the time. So give it a rest.
- mykokes

No they didn't. Kessel's contract is an albatross!

Yes they did - during that time the salary cap was like 50 million

That's my point - Nash went for spare parts in a time when the cap was still going up.

3 players and a 1st
I think the leafs can expect something close..with a bit more quality

Leafs grabbed an important point against the Habs, they played well. Good sign for things to come
- Symba007

I used to think the Leafs were tanking on purpose because i thought surely a team can't be this bad.. Then i saw Nonis, Shanny, and co. on the edge of their seats in the pressbox during the habs game cheering on the leafs like it was game 7 of the SCF. I guess they really are that bad Remember when Kessel and the rest of them said before the beginning of the season that they aren't going to let a collapse like last season happen again?

They were right. This collapse was a lot less sudden.

Right before the game tonight ...

Kessel , Huberdeau and Gudbranson simply switch dressing rooms !

And Huberdeau has Florida's 2015 1st tucked in his pocket

If I were the leafs I would target the Isles as a destination for Kessel. They have cap room and could use a good winger to play with Johnny Tavares and have some blue chip D prospects.
To Islanders- Cheeseburger Phil
To Leafs- Griffin Reinhart

You do realize that Kessel won't go anywhere unless they get fair value back, right? He's a low maintenance player that puts up points. He may never be a leader in the dressing room but if you surround him with players that take over that role then he's worth every penny of his contract.

Phaneuf, on the other hand, is certain to be dealt.

So Kessel's contract is garbage but a team that has stock piled young players, remained patient and are finally one of the leagues best (Isles) are going to just take on that albatross contract? You make little to no sense and are likely as stoned as the towel in your avatar.
