Too be honest, if the Leafs want Huberdeau, right now I do it. Huberdeau is a good play maker, but we have a few of those. Kessel is someone Florida NEEDS. I wouldn't give up Barkov, Bjugstad, or Gudbranson... but I would for sure look into Huberdeau and Kulikov in some regard.

I don't think Gudbranson is available. Kulikov maybe. But Guds is someone I personally think will one day be captain here... although we have guys coming up in the system who also fit his bill. Kampfer and Petrovic have both played really well.

Too be honest, two weeks ago I would have said hell no. But with the way Luongo is playing and with the depth we have, I would seriously... seriously... consider trading Gudbranson for Kessel. I don't see how we can't.

Nooo way. He just signed a 6 year extension here. He's our #1 center for a long time. You'd have a better shot at Barkov which is also impossible. Just being honest. I'd look into Gudbranson, Huberdeau, Kulikov with some prospects and picks. Something out of that. Look into Mike Matheson.

if mcdavid and eichel are gone you take the next best player and that is hanifin. that's not even a question. If we had the 3rd pick and we didn't take him I would officially give up as a die hard fan. Can easily package Nashville's 1st with someone to move into the 10-19 range and try and grab a center there but you don't not draft hanifin if hes the best on the board.

Taking Hanafin is a great idea except he's a LD and we'd want a RD to play with Rielly on the top pair. So maybe trading down a few spots to get more assets and draft Strome at 7 or 8 if he's still around, if not get Marner or Crouse!

Finally I am of the belief that when drafting you always take the best player you think is available unless you have an abundance at that position in which case draft for need!!

I mentioned in an earlier thread that Strome and defensemen Brandon Carlo will be the 2 players the leafs should draft in the first round. great pieces to work around. Carlo and Reilly would be a great pairing for years to come.

I like the way you think.. Carlo is great at 6'5 a RD and shoots R... perfect compliment to Rielly.... With Bernier and those 2 we have a great start building from the back end out!!!
