I'm surprised NAS doesn't want him for more firepower up front and a bit of insurance on Forsberg. They have lots of cap space still. - gravyface
They'll pick up Jagr and call it a day |

He would get rid of the lazy players that they have here. Which is a big job. |

Nashville no longer has the pieces to get a deal done unless they include Jones or Forsberg. What about the 2015 first rounders we so desperately need?We have Nashville's already.
We should be looking at a team with at least their own or somebody else's first for 2015 with a nice bevvy of prospects to choose from. Deep draft, big opportunity to kick start the rebuild.
Anaheim and NYI look like the most ideal trade partners. |

I agree with letting the players develop for a long period in the minors, but getting guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg with picks that late? After being passed over that many times by every single club? Thats (frank)ing voodoo, wizardry and bullpoop |

Nah, just pick Euro players that should be 2nd round picks in the 5th like the Wings do. Easily done.

Some luck on the picks, for sure. But letting them play for longer in the AHL serves to (a) make sure that they're ready to be pro hockey players at a high level, and (b) mitigate the cap hit, so that you're paying your 23 year old guys around $1m, and not 6x $6m |

It was luck more than anything else. If the wings truly saw that potential in them, they would've drafted them sooner |

Very true. They did not just leave them there, waiting for the later rounds to pick them up. |

Or just accept that you have the best coach in hockey and the plan above works well with him behind the bench.
There are tons of other teams finding success without using that model, and while Detroit is still a good team, that's where it ends.these days. They are no longer cup contenders Imo, and reality is slowly but surely creeping in. |

Or 4 of their best defense prospects are too young to find their way on the team and will sadly replace guys in 2 years keeping them afloat and competitive. |

Did you type this in Russian and use google to translate it?
I'm not sure what your point is or what you're trying to say, but yes teams have prospects not in the NHL and Detroit is one of 30 teams that do. |

on the topic of prospects.....Ryan Rupert seems to have fought his way from the ECHL to now being one of our better players with the Marlies at the age of 20. Future NHLer? |
