For a big stiff, better off rolling the dice on two Bracco type players. Teams win with skill now.

TRo be honest when they traded for the pick I was so happy.. then they drafted Biggs and I was like what a waste.... Burke liked him cause he was big and american.. and I would have rather had Jenner or Gibson (The Anaheim goalie which was drafted with the pick we traded to them to get Biggs).....

You're probably right but thats what they sited as reasons for his firing...

Either way their loss.. kinda and Florida's gain.... he's done well there... minus the over spending on FAs to reach the cap floor..... some bad signing that had to be made..... now they have building blocks for years and are looking good... while Edmonton is still wondering why they are having problems..... hard to believe but sometimes when you draft 1st overall really matters aka Islander/Pens/TBay......

Something Toronto is hopefully figuring out now!!!

Stan Bowman is pretty good FYI...

I have seen the Canadien hoist the Cup enough to last a couple of lifetimes.

yeah you're right That was way back in the cloutier days.

There were dumb Edmonton fan suggestions this year, but they were more the normal dumbness of fan bases overvaluing their players and completely ignoring what other GMs are trying to accomplish.

- Aetherial

Yeah I have my own Oilers fantasies but in reality their just gonna plug holes in the line up with mediocre over priced UFAs until Nurse is a quality NHLer.....not sure what the plan is if he turns out a bust.

Now he is someone who the Leafs should target to play with Rielly..... if only he were a little bit younger though...

If I had my choice it would be him over Keith ion a heartbeat. The guy has character size and leadership qualities that would totally benefit Toronto!

Remember when Toews took that penalty in the playoffs and Seabrook went into the box calmed him down and then scored the winning goal in OT... that's what missing from Toronto!

He is also slowing down. But yes he has all the intangibles.

Gallagher tinordi Fucale parenteau Thomas Habs 1st and Buffalo 2nd for Phil Le thrill
- QuickSCF

Hell no

Tinordi is a bust
Fucale is as good as Bibeau and we just acquired our gallagher in the NAS trade.

I take Thomas MON 1st and 2nd and BUF 2nd for La Thrill

It was very shortly after when I read, Here of all places, that Biggs skating was an issue and that he actually had lost a bit of his physical intimidation. At that point, I knew he was a bust.

What I couldn't understand was how a pro organization didn't know the same thing.

Whether they succeed or Fail with Nylander... at least they tried to draft 1st round skill with him.

He is probably having his best season. He is 29. His slowing down is a myth. IMO.

You'd have to take Parenteau for salary though

That is probably the best thing for them to do.

They are all in with most of that core now. Might as well cross their fingers and hope. i wouldn't trade any of them. I would wait for Nurse et al. and keep my eyes peeled for a decent goalie!

If I have my wish, he will retire a Hawk. The word around here is he is the vocal leader in the room. He has the best offensive instincts of any Hawks' D-man.

That moment may have saved that Cup run.

- Elbows15

He is without a doubt a top Dman in the league who doesn't get enough credit. He allows Keith to play his game because Seabrook plays such an all around game.... maybe the lore of bringing a cup to Toronto will be how we get him to come to and play for us!

1 can dream right!!!

Looking forward to Phil breaking the slump playing with Jokinen.

He may get close to 40 now that there's a #1C in town.

Yup.....patience sucks but in a league where trades are rare what other choice do we have? It sucks balls but whatever...I guess I can suffer a bit longer.

Imagine Taylor Hall might be available and all that you read was crap about Edmonton would have to retain salary, or take a bad contract in return or [team x] is not giving up valuable young assets...

I would rather have picks instead of the players you mentioned.... Gallagher we know his ceiling.. Tinordi is a bust... I want picks... possibly my deal would need more in it though now that you mention it!

Not hard to imagine that on HockeyBuzz....but yeah (frank) that.... Rebuild with better players to compliment him if you don't get the return you want.....you might have to take a year or 2 of a bad contract to get the return you want though.

Nah not really... just think Montreal is not a good trading partner for Kessel because they dont have enough good prospects... which is why I would rather have picks to choose our own busts lol!
