Who else would Fla part with?
Luongo?
Boyes maybe? Gudbransson possibly but I doubt it.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Ekblad and Barkov would be off the table (1D and 1C), but anyone beyond that they should consider. |

They won't pry Barkov, Ekblad, Huberdeau or Bjugstad out of Fla..
They are looking to ditch Bergenheim.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
What's with the love for Huberdeau? Has no one else found him underwhelming? |

That didn't work out so well for Toronto did it?
I think teams are smart enough to not make that mistake.. |

We agree yet again.
I'm happy they've brought in guys like Dubas and Hunter. Need some new blood. - BetterCallSaul
Ya me too.... The London Knights have been dominate for many years..... it's not luck when it goes on for this long!
In the late rounds is where Hunter and Dubas will leave their mark on Toronto's draft picks. Albeit we have some real good ones in Andreas Johnson, Bibeau, Brown and Loov... it's a matter of getting our high end talent to pan out with good supporting cast! |

Say the Leafs pick at #4 and #24, who do you think they take? My bet is Marner and Konecny. - BoTtLePoLiCe
Back to back small centers.... unlikely... Konecny probs wont slip to 24th and nashvilles pick will most likely be 26th at best case scenario |

big kid who moves very well. Guys his size that smooth on his skates are rare. He has a bit of an edge to him. What i really liked was he moved with the play very well. He never is flat footed. He stays inside the play very well. From my limited viewings, he sees and thinks the game well. He doesn't just have straight line speed. He works his edges pretty well from what I saw.
He had one play where he just took off with the puck and blew by guys or shrugged them off. It was one of those woah moments that you look for.
He seems to be moving up this year. At the start of the season, I saw some projections as a 2nd rounder. Lately, I have seen him projected to mid to late 1st round. - Elbows15

how does he help the rebuild?
No way they'll let Ekblad or Barkov go... but if they want/interested in Kessel they can't even think about not giving up either Huberdeau or Bjugstad as a start. - MCharisma91
I don't see Fla as a good trade partner.. They see themselves as a good up and coming team.. I don't think you'll get any of their young guys.. |

Year after year I watch the Knights and it always looks like it will be the year the Knights drop to the bottom yet they don't. He is a great GM. |

It's was just a start. I never said it would be a good trade, but I think that's what the Panthers would start with..
Bergenheim is definitely a part of the deal.. |

It could be possible Nashville gets matched up with L.A first round and we all know the kings are a strong playoff team.. Guess i have something to cheer for this playoffs.... an early nashville exit. - orienbrady22

Best scouting ranking IMO come from ISS check out their site if you havent already... they don't list him in the top 30 but my guess is he sounds a lot like Matt Finn who the Leafs were thrilled to land in the 2nd round when he was still there when they made their selection! If he's anything like you say maybe we get him somewhere near rounds 2 or 3..... provided we get a 2nd rounder this year in any trades we make!! |

im not interested in ROR. not in the slightest. especially for kessel - Lee Denault
Maybe that's why you haven't had any missed calls from MLSE about a GM position. If you think you're going to get a clear star for star trade than you're missing the point of even trading your bestplayer. The Leafs are at a point where they acknowledge they are going to be a bottom of the standings team for the next half a decade. They don't want to trade him for a star player in his prime right now...they want as many potential pieces that they can get and look towards the next few drafts to find their next superstars...even the idea of unloading Kessel at the deadline for a 1st + also helps Toronto in their goal to tank this season for a lotto pick. |

Then why trade Kessel? If the Leafs aren't getting a premium package in return why even trade him? If they are rebuilding they don't need the cap space. There is no need to get rid of him unless they are getting a major piece for the future. |
