Quick question:
Does anyone still want Reimer over Fleury? - Ben37
Put Fluery in net with the TML's pathetic excuse for a team in front of him and his numbers would probably look similar to Reimer's. They are doing absolutely nothing to help him out. |

RW needs to own up to his evaluation of MAF and the only suggestion he brought to the table was Reimer. MAF and when we got Scuds he was pretty wrong about. Everything else, he is a solid accurate blogger. |

So sorry to hear about Dupuis. I hope the doctors can resolve his problem. Major bummer for him and his family. |

Obviously i dont need to stick up for ryan cause here in a sec he will prob have a pie chart that proves u wrong.....how ever: wtf r u talkin about. MAF is still exactly what RW said he was...average. just cause hes strung together sum good showins doesnt change what he is...average.
And not sure what ur sayin bout scuds.....everyone and their brother was happy to get him back....now everyone and their mother wants him gone....either way he still stinks. Hes pretty good at bankin the puck off the glass into the offensive zone though.

The thing is that is has been the last two games that have created the firestorm. But even through out the season the Leafs goaltending has been...questionable at best. Byt the way Fleury is 5th in GAA, 4 in S% and 1st in shutouts. |

I realize that im soundin like the bad guy, negative nancy if u will, but even if he does have a great regular season, it will be null and void if he implodes in the playoffs. Im def rootin for the dude, but im also a realist....he does this to this team year after year.
On the bright side.......people do change. Maybe its his time to take that next step to eliteness..... |

Wrong about what? That MAF is an average G and is paid like an average starting G? RW kept throwing the idea of finding someone with value and the only name he threw out was Reimer. No matter what stat he throws out, it doesn't show how bad this team has played during the playoffs including MAF, but RW puts way too much blame on MAF.
I was never happy about Scuds, there were a few here that were like WTF when Shero brought him back. But RW threw some BS chart out that showed he was great and all the sheep followed. |

Maybe come playoff time. If you want to argue that he is a headcase come April I will agree, but you cannot take away his regular season numbers. |

MAF is playing great, but let's be honest, the team is playing MUCH better in front of him. Much more structure and puck support. Forwards aren't leaving the D high and dry like the Disco days.
The best thing to happen to MAF is the new coach. Letang and Despres should give HCMJ some love too. |

Time to revisit the low-risk, potentially high reward options...
I mentioned Loktionov earlier.
Would anyone take a gamble with Nestrasil who was put on waivers? We have the cap room now and if he doesnt work out we can easily just wave him. |

JAROMIR JAGR
My childhood hockey idol. Bring him on and play him with Geno or whatever! - Barnaby36
Not happening as much as I d love it ... Bottomline is no deal is imminent ... Pens are the best team in the league an will attempt to fill the void internally .... While I agree a "top 6 winger" will be brought in by the deadline ... There is zero urgency... Ps it's not going to be Kane or wheeler and Martin is most probably going nowhere ( as he s an all star to this point) ... Soo ... While reading this idle speculation is endlessly fascinating ... It's most probably a pipe dream!!!
Question!!!! What is up with the megna bs??? He a forth line winger that could not make the team over zack sill!!! Can we get over it??? |
|
|
|
hahaha, I know it will never happen... but hey the Leafs are in total disarray right now.. maybe they do something bold and start over... you're telling me you wouldn't take that trade? - j.boyd919
I wouldn't. No chance. A solid prospect, a high-end third line center, a top six winger, and a first for a expensive Phil Kessel? Ain't doin' it. You'd be downgrading the team to two scoring lines at best with Dupes now out. |
|
|
|
Why would a division contending team (NJ) trade a veteran scoring winger...to a division rival??? |

I mentioned his name in the pre-season but some here thought he was way overpaid and had too much term left.
He's a class act guy and I wouldn't be against bringing him in but I'd look at ours options before pulling the trigger. |

Here's my outside the box solution: Comeau-Crosby-Hornqvist/Kunitz-Goc-Malkin/Bennett-Sutter-Downie/Sill-Spaling-Adams.
Goc's faceoff skills alone could help Malkin get going. |

$4 mil ain't breaking the bank, and it protects against losing Dupuis long-term.
Thing about Juicy is that we already know he can succeed with Malkin, who isn't the easiest guy to find wingers for. And Juicy of course can also handle some of the faceoff load. |

Absolutely. Loved Juicy with Geno. He's great on faceoffs too. We know what we are getting from him. A known commodity for sure. The thing is we'd need a net front presence on that line to drive to the net. I'd put Kunitz in there.

I was was calling for the Pens to get JJ long before they did. I thought he was great with Malkin, played smart and to his abilities, great timing. Doubt they would bring it back. |

That's actually kind of interesting with that 2nd line. I would like to see them try that out. Dropping Kunitz to that line really adds a lot. I thought comeau last game had a little but of dupuis in him and he looks like he could fill his role short term |

Anyone listen to madden today with stan savaren (sp). Stan said he wouldn't deal PM bc we will need him during playoffs. He would move Burtuzzo samuelsson harrington etc for a winger. It was interesting he was all fired up today.
He talked about how we fans want cup runs but we have to get that 2nd cup first and we haven't gotten close. Pens need to get younger. He doesn't think a vet rental will do this team any justice. And if they need to the pens need to move a young d not named maatta pouliot and even despres.

12 Points in 16 games with a +/- of +5 is pretty damn good considering he plays for Florida. |

That ship has sailed... Thing is, Florida actually needs him in their lineup, which means we'd be paying a premium to reacquire him
No thanks, better to look for a team looking to dump players for cheap, or pay a little more and get a younger/cheaper solution |
