I am a huge Jags fan, the only time I hated him was when he smeared crap all over himself and played for that other PA team.

At this point, I really can't understand how anyone could not like Jagr!? He is the epitome of class and love for the game. I will always hold it against Philly for letting him walk after 2012... It was literally Jagr who gelled that line to allow G and Hartsy to flourish... Yes G was the superstar on that line, but Jagr brought something 2/3 of that top line hadn't seen before: a legit first-line winger.

I pray he plays until he is 50, literally.

Everyone wants the Pens to get younger at the wings yet still hope that a 43 year old player returns to the team someday.

That'd be like a team saying they wouldn't want selanne or lidstrom on their team in the last 2 years they played because they are too old.

He's a UFA next year and I really think he will take a hard look at finishing his career with the pens.

Don't kid yourself... Jagr will go where the money is. I like Jagr a lot, but he's always followed the money.

Which (among countless other things in his personality) is strange, because it's not like he seems to lead some flashy lavish lifestyle anymore.

Projections for tonight's game? I'll say 3-1 Pens.

A Jagr-Malkin-Dupuis line would be incredible. Let Crosby remain with Hörnqvist and Kunitz.

From someone who had Thyroid Cancer (14 years ago), I wish Olli Maatta the best! Although, like any cancer, it can kill you, it is one of the most treatable and curable forms of cancer to get. Most forms are very slow-growing and Maatta's appears to have been caught early. These are all excellent signs! In addition, Chemo is often not necessary (as was the case with me and I believe is the case with Maatta). It sounds like he will be fine and won't even miss much time. That should be outstanding news to any hockey fan - even us Flyers fans ;-)

Get well, Olli!

Hope Jagr get put on his wallet like 20 times tonight. Probably won't happen I can't recall a play where that happened to him.

It's scary. I can't imagine being told that when I was 20. You still think you're invincible

No question! It's a jolt at any age but especially so at 20. I really hope they are pleasantly surprised after the surgery but if they aren't, I'm sure he will be in excellent hands!

“When the GM tells you we have to sign [Tyler] Kennedy first and Kennedy is playing the third or fourth line … Just go and look for [the] GM a month before I was a free agent, and it’s going to tell you a lot. It’ll tell you if they wanted me or not.” – Jaromir Jagr, 2012.

Since the Summer of #Jagrwatch…

Jagr has scored 162 points, and 61 goals.

Instead they signed Tyler Kennedy and Steve Sullivan.

Tyler Kennedy = 61 Points

Steve Sullivan = 30 points

Neither are currently playing in the NHL. TYLER KENNEDY IS NO LONGER IN THE NHL.

In fact, only Chris Kunitz ( 187), Sidney Crosby (209) and Evgeni Malkin (224) have scored more points.

Pretty sure TK has been recently sent down for a conditioning stint. Though those are impressive stats that for sure.

Hind sight is always 20/20. I doubt we'll ever know how that negotiation went down. I was pissed at the time, but reflecting on it now, Jags was correct in holding out for more money. He was obviously worth it.

I'll also add that I don't believe Ray was ever really sold on the idea of bringing him back.

When he first left it was a terrible time for the team and fans. I choose to remember the good times.

True story. I delivered pizza to Jagr's moms house in Upper st. Clair in high school. He answered the door and only tipped me 1 buck! he was making millions!

I went to the opener last year and got good seats near the Devils runway. Was cool to see Jagr and Marty walk no more that 5 ft from me.

Dude just keeps going and playing well. He was always a conditioning freak. That lower body of his is the difference.

I'll never forget the key goals he scored in 91 and 92 playoffs. Also the performance, while injured, in the 99 playoffs. Epic..

That offseason decimated my moral. First we give Talbot the middle finger in favor of TK (never liked him. Ever.). Lose him to the Flyers. Then I got the impression that Jagr was all but back. Lose him to the Flyers. Didn't know TK was directly responsible for both. Now I can add another reason to the portfolio titled "Why I hate Tyler 'Pig Boy' Kennedy".

Don't get me started on TK. Had he played to his ability, he could have been a fine 3/4 line player. But every time he tried to Mario his way into the zone, lose the puck or shoot wide. Drove me nuts, although someone on here thought he had top 6 potential. Also, I saw him at Ross Park Mall with this smoking hot chic, way out of his league. The things money will buy! Another reason Shero got canned, holding on to the past.

Jagr has had some great years, but does everyone really think he would really be effective for a full 82 game season plus the playoffs in a Top-6 role? The guy can still be effective in a lesser role, but I just don't see him maintaining a solid level of production for 82gms plus the playoffs.

Doubtful, also he will most likely demand to be on the PP, so where do you put him? Crosby, 87, 71 all lefty shooters, PH on the left side. Throw in Jags, that right side will get crowded.

So it was '10! I remember him looking very slow during those games and thought his career was finished. Pretty cool what he's been able to do since.
